"Stop using animals immediately in medical training conducted for staff, physicians, or residents affiliated with the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga (UTCOM). Your hospital partner, Erlanger Health System, has announced a new policy banning its staff—including its emergency medevac provider, LIFE FORCE—from participating in these live-animal medical training drills at UTCOM. I urge you to also switch to more effective, non-animal training methods. Abusing sentinent beings like this is sick, disgusting, cruel, unconscionable and of no value. Studies have repeatedly shown that the best available emergency trauma training comes from non-animal, human simulators. Unlike pigs who are used as stand-ins for human patients during such training, advanced human simulators behave exactly the way a human body behaves under duress. Pigs are not the same, making them poor replacements for injured humans. Using pigs delivers inferior trauma training and leaves first responders less prepared in times of emergency. End the use of animals in these painful medical exercises, and switch to more advanced human-patient simulators. End your complicity in this cruelty!"

"Shame on this college for being the last accredited medical institution in America to still use live animals for testing purposes. This inhumane torture of pigs and other animals is despicable and speaks to the kind of unethical practices taught there, as well as the unethical physicians who graduate from this institution. What a lesson we teach our children - that it IS Ok to do harm to living creatures. Sickening."
