"It's back in the logging roads, and it feels sketchy getting there, but trust me, Google maps puts you right next to it! You will lose cell service, so be prepared! We hike the Pinhotti Trail as often as we can. The Silver Comet and Chief Ladiga trails to connect, and you can also get to the Appalachian Trail from this trail. There are shelters along the way provided by the state's DNR, but please take care of them. It's a privilege, not a right to have these shelters along the way. And for goodness sake, clean up the trail! If you see trash, carry it with you, it doesn't weigh that much. There is a revelation in the ledgers from someone named Big Pop Daddy, I think? Anyway, it states, "I am, proof, that we are." Very true brotha! Lots of friendly people, but always be prepared! And water is a precious commodity!"
