"Some of these reviews were concerning but I experienced 0 issues with my stay. The gentleman checking people in was friendly and the room itself was very spacious and had everything that I needed. Breakfast was a nice perk too (biscuits n gravy, yogurt, cereal, eggs, pancakes, etc)"
"I've stayed here several times and up until my last visit I've always had a nice room. The room I had for my last visit was in need of some tlc. It's a quiet location and the parking used to be free but they now charge $5 a day which they don't tell you and take it out of your deposit. Every time I've stayed it's been for a week or more and housekeeping has never come to clean my room. You take your towels (which they are usually out of) and sheets to the front desk to 6 for new ones."
"I booked a 2 night stay here in Oct. I drove from Ohio to Atlanta. The room I was given was shocking and in no way up to what I expect from Sonesta. The points below are in no way exaggerated: 1) The room had very clearly been occupied by a heavy smoker for at least several days and the cleaning crew had tried hard to cover it up. The smell was something you couldn't ignore. Smoke, mildew, and air freshener. 2) The AC didn't work. I left it on for a few hours and the temperature didn't change. 3) The furniture was very dirty. The couch was smudged and had several sticky spots. The chair facing the TV was missing a back cushion and had been scribbled on in several places with a black magic marker. When I lifted the bottom cushion there was a film of white mold growing and a crushed chocolate candy bar. 4) Other pieces of furniture were damaged and chewed on by pets. 5) The smell of marijuana smoke pervaded much of the property and the property itself was in very rough shape. I am not a squeamish guy by any stretch but this was shocking, disgusting and unacceptable. All of this forced me to have to scramble and find another place to stay at the last minute. I ended up at the Sonesta on Powers Ferry which was virtually the same price and a far far better experience."
"Confused about a lot of the negative reviews. The location is good, the room was clean, and the price is very good for a 2 bed 2 bath suite. This is an extended stay hotel that is more like apartments with actual rooms with doors and a full kitchen. The buildings are definitely older, but for a similar price for a more traditional hotel, you’d be getting one mildewy smelling room with two beds and 1 bathroom. Our suite did not smell as some of the comments have mentioned. The only “issue” is that one of the beds did not have a comforter and the front desk gave us one immediately. Next time I come to Atlanta, I’ll be staying here again."
"My boyfriend and I stayed at this location for about 2 weeks and during that time we were treated horribly by those that worked at the front desk along with the maintenance workers. One incident that occurred was in the middle of the night about 2:00 a.m. and I walked through the lobby to get something to drink and somebody was mopping the floor and there was no sign that there was a wet floor and he proceeded to scream at me and tell me to get the f out of the lobby. And every time I went into make a payment there were always different people there and they always had their own rules that they would follow regarding pricing and making exceptions for certain residents. We had always paid on time except for the last two days that we were staying there. I stayed in touch with them and told them that I would be paying the following day in full and they agreed that that would be acceptable. The very next morning someone different called the room and said we had 15 minutes to evacuate the room with all of our belongings or the police would be arriving to remove us themselves. My boyfriend was not at the hotel at this time and so I was there left alone to try and pack up both his and my belongings which was nearly impossible to do. While I was packing two maintenance men stood inside the hotel room right outside my bedroom door while I was changing and refused to leave telling me that they would remove my boyfriend's things and put them in a safe place until he got back. They had me waiting the lobby with my belongings and when my boyfriend returned we realized that they had thrown all of his stuff downstairs and that a majority of his things were missing and the only two people that were involved in moving his items were the maintenance team. The whole time they were in the room while I was trying to change in private, two housekeepers were also sitting in there and all four of them were speaking Spanish and laughing. I found this to be completely unacceptable and we are taking this to a higher level and hopefully action will be taken against this dump. There's also homeless individuals that would come to breakfast each morning and no one that worked here ever mentioned a thing about it. In addition the lady that lived next door to us, who was disabled, was receiving rental assistance from an organization and the hotel refused to accept it from them threatening to evict her. We left before that came to a head so I'm not sure what happened but this place should not be able to remain open promising to cater to their guests for the price that we pay. This is just a warning to all... avoid this place at all costs!!!! I am sure that the hotel will have some response to my review because it appears as though they only respond to those that have something negative to say and it's pretty repetitive in each response that they have."
