"Not recommended. I rarely leave reviews, but my experience was poor enough to warrant one. This office comes across as modern and high end but the dental care is severely lacking. They didn't listen- THE key component in quality and caring healthcare. I was in pain and explained the crown they made simply did not feel right and caused a dull pain. I went back in 3 times for them to file and work on it to no avail. They wanted to charge me to redo a crown they clearly didn't get right. My next dentist actually took a look and, without my mentioning it, asked if I was having issues with my crown. I LIVED with minor pain for 1 year because I thought, "she's a doctor, she knows, it must be in my head". Dr. Kim actually CALLED her and told her the crown wasn't holding up after a year and needed to be done properly. He felt it was her responsibility to pay for a portion of it if insurance didn't cover. (Crowns less than 3 years old often are not covered) She BALKED at helping pay and offered to have me go CONSULT. Her practice is by and large a sham to make you feel as if you are in highly capable hands when in actuality it is a below average performance billed at boutique costs."
"Dr. Spaulding and her staff are caring and professional. I have been a patient for years and I will continue to see them while they continue to offer top notch service. Highly Recommended!"
"I started seeing Dr. Spaulding when she was still Dr. Pechera. She's a nice enough person, BUT.. she has always had two MAJOR problems working against her. #1) Problems with the billing part of her practice: I've had a "contest of will" going on now for maybe a decade, but getting exponentially worse the past three or four years due to almost $200 in charges that she simply cannot explain - but she won't write them off either. Each time I've asked for an explanation they simply rebill my insurance company. I believe they've rebilled the same charges four or five times now - but never once have they called, emailed, or written to a) ITEMIZE the charges for me; or b) EXPLAIN the charges to me. It's almost comical at this point - that is, if it weren't a threat to my credit. If it's turned for collection I'll simply take her to small claims court. Until she steps up and explains what she's billing me for, I will continue to fight it. I once asked her "would you pay for service on your car if they didn't itemize what they were charging you for?" She seemed to "get it" but has simply never followed through to explain the services for which she bills her patients. #2) If you're hiv+ DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST: She once had a dental hygienist (I have no idea whether she's still on staff) who opted not to floss my teeth because she was, how shall I say, "uncomfortable" with my hiv+ status? But what I mean is "freaked out". I noticed right after I arrived and was seated in the chair, that there was quite a frantic, heated, but somewhat hushed discussion between the dental assistant and this particular hygienist in the adjoining room. Evidently the dental assistant won out because the dental hygienist very cooly introduced herself and began the work of cleaning my teeth (with very shaky hands). Like I said, when it got to the point of flossing my teeth (the final step for any hygienist), she simply called for Dr. Pechera/Spaulding to look over her work. And Dr. Pechera/Spaulding let her get away with it - it HAD to be EXTREMELY obvious to her that my teeth hadn't been flossed yet. There's no way that a dentist with her experience could miss the fact. No way!! But she never said a word about it - and neither did I. They BOTH made me feel too humiliated to confront them about it. So, let me repeat - if you are hiv+ DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST."
