"I visited on January 8 and as of today February 17 I received my passport in the mail. I'm very pleasantly surprised by the speed of the service and hope it will continue to remain this way. However, I noticed that they didn't use the passport pictures I paid for and provided, and instead used a picture of me taken at the office after I had waited for 3-4 hours and exhausted from my flight. There are many areas for improvement for the process like registration, noting who was there first, clear instructions, etc. I had to wait outside in the cold with no heat for 20 minutes before there was space to enter the building so bring a coat in the winter or come during good weather. They were allowing people without appointments to pay then and there and receive the same priority as those who booked online. They were selling mailing envelopes for $20 when I bought mine for ~$10. No eating was allowed in the building. There was also a $30 processing fee to pay. But everything was fairly prompt. Just a heads up to bring your own prepaid envelope and come looking put together because they might not use the picture you provide them :/"
"Horrible experience. Once application is submitted no changes can be made. Not even to change the location of your appointment. If there are errors on your application they will make you pay again to submit a second application and than change your collection date. THEY DO NOT ANSWER PHONES OR EMAILS. They will lie and say they do though. They only get two stars because the head woman did what she could to fix the situation at this dysfunctional circus of a consulate. I drove 6 hours and waited all day to find out the biometrics machine was broken. The staff is RUDE. They do not care about your inconvenience as long as they can extort money from you. Drove back a second week only for them to make me pay the application fee TWICE and change my collection date from November 23rd to January 20th of next year. I will have to postpone my Christmas trip. There is no way to possibly type everything that happened. Just know I will be writing the BBB and attorney General to have them investigated."
"Honest opinion! If I could give them a 0 star review I would! The Passport process here is as messed up as the Country. If you want to remind yourself of the reason you relocated, Just come and renew your passport here! It’s really a serious Nightmare. Be warned!!. My appointment dates didn’t work as stated on my online application!.Date given was closed cos of their Sallah holiday! Had to come back after and I was so discombobulated with their process! Been here since 9 am and its 2pm with temp 97degrees hot and we are kept outside under a canopy in the heat and looks like I may not be received!! Just expect the worse when you come here!! God please remember Nigeria! Cause this is just a total mess!. Not for the faint hearted. Advice: if you want to renew your passport, make sure you apply for 10years renewal! Don’t hesitate, even if you are broke."
"I will start by saying we were warned by friends before coming to this consulate before arriving. Everything that we were told was validated while we were there. First the gate is locked and a man working from his car opened it to let us in. When my mom approached him he was very hostile. And told us to go next door to the business center who makes it seem like you are bothering them when you ask them questions lol smh"
"I would give this place 0 stars if I could for the horrible customer service, inhumane treatment and overall unorganized chaos. But first some advice 1) Bring a charger; After being there for 8 hours my fully charged phone died 2) Bring snacks: Once again after being there for 8 hours, and not being offered water or snacks, I was starving 3)Bring something to do: Once my phone died, there still was absolutely nothing to do so I would recommend bringing a book or a game of some sorts. Now for the experience Once we arrived at about 9:15, we arrived to see about 250 people outside. Keep in mind the temperature was 41 with a chill. We arrived to see a man yelling at a crowd of people, 10% of whom were sitting under a tent that only had about 20 chairs, 90% were standing up in the parking lot. Despite the temperature, he would not allow ANYBODY to enter the building, yelling at those who tried to as if we were children. We got through the first phase of them collecting our documents at 10:45, despite us having a 9:30 appointment. We were then told it would be about a 1-2 hour wait. After going back to the hotel to recollect ourselves, we returned to the embassy at about 12:30. This is when the trouble started. People were sitting on the concrete because once again, they were not being allowed to go in. Using the restroom was a whole nother ball game. Many of the restrooms either didn't have toilet paper, soap, or water to wash hands. After asking someone for toilet paper, I was told that people were "abusing the toilets paper" and that's why they were reluctant to refill it. After 8 or so hours at the embassy, 90% of which was spent outside in the cold, despite our booked 9:30 appointment, we left at 5 PM. The application process was so confusing and the worst part is that the application process is made confusing ON PURPOSE It's confusing so that you HAVE to go to the printing building next door, which is the Embassy's printing business. Imagine making a 1 page, black and white photo copy for $5. Even Office Depot would be jealous of their profit margin. The amount of in-your-face shameless corruption was astounding to me. Bribes were also commonplace. Someone who arrived 3 HOURS AFTER ME was able to go inside before me, despite the fact that I had been there first Imagine making a 1 page, black and white photo copy for $5 Even Office Depot would be jealous of their profit margin The treatment of every single person who was at the embassy was deplorable and a disgrace to Nigeria. The fact that the people at the Embassy felt so comfortable treating their fellow Nigerians so inhumanely disgusts me and I hope that somebody takes the initiative to change things because this type of treatment will discourage the younger generation have never been to Nigeria."
