"Absolutely wonderful performance of A Christmas Carol the musical! Easy parking and great restaurant selection at Prime 120 after the show. We went on a Sunday afternoon at 2:30. What a fun time!"
"Nice theater. Very good actors/actresses. Attended Christmas Carol. Good seating. Good sound. Serve soda, water, beer & wine. Staff very nice & helpful"
"Super cute theater. Has that middle school theater vibe which I dig a lot. Great place to take your kids or grandparents if you want to get the whole theater experience without paying a lot or driving to Atlanta. I'd definitely recommend going for the experience. Staff was also very pleasant and nice."
"This community theatre is located in a former church just around the corner from Main St. in the village of Woodstock within walking distance of more than twenty high quality restaurants. There is plenty of exterior parking and the architecture of the building is enticing, Once inside, you will find a warm and welcoming foyer, smiling faces and clean restrooms. This however, is where the accolades end. The main hall (former sanctuary) is a long, narrow, high ceilinged space that is currently much bigger than needed. The seats appeared to be repurposed from the former sanctuary, lacked armrests, afforded no sense of personal space, and we're only minimally comfortable. The floor sloped gently towards the stage but not enough to keep the patrons in front of you from blocking the view. The large room seemed somewhat cold and sterile with lots of hard surfaces and a noticeable echo giving it a wind tunnel effect that lacked both warmth and invitation. The concession table was stuck in the back of the auditorium itself and the open sound booth with its surrounding knee wall took up a huge chunk out of one side in the center of the hall giving the room a disjointed, utilitarian feel. I am reminded that this is a community theatre likely running with volunteer labor on a shoestring budget but they would seriously benefit with the addition of a wall about 2/3 of the way back which would limit the seating space, minimize the tunnel effect, isolate the sound booth, and provide a separate space for the concessions. The play itself, entitled "Into the Woods" was enjoyable and some of the actors showed real skill in their craft... particularly the witch and the little girl narrating the story. The show did run long at almost 3 hours including intermission and (in my opinion) didn't benefit much from the second act as the first act already had a natural ending... including a closing song...and would have kept the show just under 2 hours. The biggest problem however, was the sound quality. It is seriously sub par. If they are going to survive, they will have to find a way to upgrade their audio equipment sooner rather than later. The wireless mics were constantly cutting in and out, laying static, and muffling the actors' words rendering certain characters and some key lines, almost unintelligible. All in all, it wasn't a complete waste of money and I might return but only if I couldn't find something better playing at another more inviting local theatre company. This one needs work."
"We visit Woodstock Arts Theater from time to time to see local comedians perform live. Most recently we saw the play "Air." The facility is intimate, clean and nice. The room seats up to 500 people and the seating is comfortable. The bar serves beer, wine, soda and snacks during all performances we've attended. The bathrooms are clean but do get busy at intermission. The parking lot is ample and is generally free of charge. This facility is handicap friendly and there are plenty of staff around if assistance is required. This is a well managed and smooth running local theater and venue."
