"This office is run by crooks and you should avoid it at all costs. Firstly, as many other reviewers have noted, the front desk is flat out rude. They are rude when you call and they are rude when you check in. They shut their phones down "for lunch" and they will not return your call. Second, it seems that the doctors are only there to squeeze every dollar out of their patients. So much so that they will charge you (without telling you) for any prescription refills that you need called in. I have never in my life heard of a doctor charging to refill a script. They say it is "office policy" aka a made up rule by them. When I disputed the charge, they took over a week to call me back, I never ended up hearing from the doctor, and their response was to dismiss me as a patient. I'm sure they only did that to cover their butts, as I was never going back there anyway after their attempted thievery. Take heed of the many poor reviews and avoid this office."

"My family has been seeing Dr Newton for over 15 years. The office has consistently been the most efficiently run doctor’s office I been to, you never have to wait for hours to see the Doctor as I have had to do with others in the past. The most important thing is the level of care, compassion, and understanding Dr. Newton provides. He and the staff saw us through a bout with cancer, even checking in with all the family during the process. Dr. Newton was also totally available for any questions or concerns we had during treatment and followed the case closely. Our son sees DPN Kettenger, who has been there for us numerous times through emergencies, outside the routine office visits. Recently she saw him in the waiting room knowing he didn’t have an appointment, went to him to find out what was wrong and fit him in right away. This is the type of care and compassion I am talking about. We never feel rushed through an appoint and they actually take the time to listen to what’s going on. I believe having a primary who understands and cares about you as an individual as well as your family’s health is invaluable. In this current medical environment where you seem to have to be your own health advocate, we have found that Newton Family Medicine is always there when we need them. We are so grateful to have found such a wonderful practice."

"Excellent staff and awesome Doctor. I fly every few months from northern VA to SC just to see Doctor Newton; he was my primary doc when I used to live in Charleston. I like the fact that he actually listens, seems to care and for the most part the wait time is minimal. I've tried to find a local doctor in VA, but the quality of service does not add up. So as long as I'm blessed financially to fly and see him, I will continue to do so."
