"Me and my family literally lived here less than two weeks before deciding to break our lease. We went to the office and got our keys December 7 when we got into our unit there was poop in our toilet, WHILE WE WERE PAYING FOR THE UNIT. Mind you, I toured the unit right before me and my husband decided to rent it and that was not there. Then we started paying for the unit two weeks before moving in meaning while we were paying for our unit, our unit either wasn’t professionally cleaned prior to us moving in or it was cleaned and then right being cleaned maintenance or someone else came in and used our toilet. Unfortunately I didn’t think to take a picture because my husband went ahead and cleaned it up. In our closet, there’s scribbling all over the wall, which I will attach a picture of. It sounds like the people above us are literally in our apartment. You can hear every step they take and it’s every night and even throughout the day. The trash build-up of the trash pad is absolutely terrible. A “luxury” community should either enforce much tighter upkeep or otherwise stricter waste policies because it’s ridiculous. I will take pictures of several different days. It’s not only disgusting but kind of inconsiderate of residents because stuff like that attracts the very pest and rodents that the fee that’s paid is supposed to keep away. The build-up of insect nests and dust balls in the breezeways and walkways is outrageous for a complex marketed as “Luxury.” A contracted or even a local power-wash visit would square that away easily. Why even include pest control in the fees if bugs are practically living in the walkways. The interiors of the unit are actually designed nicely, but it’s the only thing that my family’s opinion hasn’t changed on. The community does not feel at all like the same place I toured. And it sucks we’re expected to pay over 1700+ a month to live in disappointment. Save yourself the $3500 lease break fee and just live somewhere else. by the time all of this added up, I literally just didn’t wanna live here anymore and I let management know that and asked if there was anything I could do and they said since I hadn’t said anything before now, I would just have to pay the $3500 lease break fee. Mind you I hadn’t even been here for 2 weeks. They asked if maintenance could come by and fix the crooked bathroom drawer and the peeled window seal in our son’s room but there was no point because we already decided we couldn’t live here. Those were the least of our problems compared to the literal piles of trash you’re expected to drive by every morning that no one offered to get rid of. I feel so bad for the units who live directly in front of this and have to smell it every day."
"This apartment complex is really awsome. All the staff goes above and beyond but I'll say that the girl jazmyn is really great she handles things very quickly. Thank u duke of Charleston for making or living a great place to stay.. only thing is that there isn't a playground for kids which is ok because this place offers other things including events ."
"In being here 5 months, I’ve made many complaints to the office about the noisy neighbors in the apt above me at night time and nothing has really be done to resolve. I’ve called the after hour courtesy officer and nothing still has taken place. It’s frustrating when you have to be up early in the AM and you hear stomping to almost midnight. I’m not too sure if I’ll be renewing my lease if this is what I’ll have to endure another year. On the bright side, Jazmine has been sweet and helpful when I first moved in!"
"Initially I gave this place five stars. After living here for 4 months my satisfaction continues to decline, along with my rating. I definitely do not plan on renewing my lease! To say this property is poorly maintained, is an understatement! It’s fair to say the exterior of this property has not been cleaned since construction commenced. The breezeways are atrocious between the litter, bees nests, spiders, their eggs and cobwebs. There are pet waste stations all over the property providing one all the means to pick up after their dogs, yet somehow the piles of feces continue to multiply throughout the property. Including the dog park area. But I wouldn’t exactly call it a dog park, it is more a fenced in area for fleas and feces. Pest control is a nonnegotiable fee, but not once has there been pest control preventative maintenance. Despite the desperate need for it! They don’t clean drains before a new resident moves in, after one moves out. The tub filled up during showers until I took the cap out to check it. When I pulled off the cap the amount of hair and grim was despicable! Found the gnat hub! Don’t plan on changing your air filter or expect to keep your air system clean, they deny you the ability with a deadbolt and they don’t service it. Maybe they invented the world’s first self cleaning air filter that never needs to be replaced. With all that said I cannot give the bad without the good and shining light on Ms. Jazmyn and giving her the praise she deserves! She alone gives this place 5 stars! Professional, polite, efficient, caring and personable!!! She probably knows the name of all the residents! She’s easygoing and an absolute delight to talk with! She does everything she can to give you the requested attention and information! I’m not asking for diamonds and gold but for what I’m paying in rent, I don’t think pest control, a clean air filter, and a maintained exterior is asking for too much. What are we paying for, a partially gated community?"
"Amenities aren’t what they used to be and rent is way too high . They raised it almost $200 after my one year lease . They also did not credit me for multiple months of rent during a management switch out and never fixed the discrepancy . Too many people have businesses because they have money but don’t have the knowledge to properly run a business. Beautiful complexes with more affordable rent , less insects, and consistent amenities are plentiful in the area . The trash is a disaster and there is a roach problem that has not been solved despite the monthly pest fees. We will be going elsewhere"
