"Let me start by saying, if you are needing someone to help you with managing diabetes, go elsewhere. My newly diagnosed husband was dismissed via certified letter because we sought a 2nd opinion per the recommedation of his Gastroenterologist, who agreed with his LACK OF care from Dr. Seagrove and her nutrionist, Ryane Greene. I work with patients myself, and would never dismiss a patient over a second opinion because my "feelings were hurt". I mean, grow up! You are to provide care to someone who depends on your knowledge, education, and skills, to keep them ALIVE, especially Type 1! Oh, the best part was, the dismissal letter was dated 3 weeks prior to delivery, giving us a window of a matter of days to see Dr. Seagrove should an emergency arise. I was told by the Office manager, Krista Johnson, that it had to go thru approval of several others within UNC Pardee, before being sent to us, and thats why it was held up. I'm sorry, do what?! Wendy, at the front desk, needs to take lengthy course in customer service; that will make or break ANY practice, it certainly would mine! First and last impressions seal the deal with a patient/doctor relationship. At the end of day, save yourself the headache and seek care from a provider who actually cares!"
"We had an appointment that took us 3 months to get. When we got to the office our appointment was canceled and rescheduled for four months later because we forgot to bring his meter. I felt like we were in kindergarten. Absolutely no leeway was given to us for this offense. We were not treated kindly and not given a chance to do our t appointment any other way"
"I called here in search of a new endocrinologist after my current doctor moved offices and was too far for my commute. I had a referral sent over urgent as my current insulin refills were expired. I called the office to try and schedule an appt. and explain my situation. Before I could even finish saying hello the front desk staff (Wendy) told me all appts were out till August and that I should contact my old provider, even though my desire was to switch practices. I didn't even have the chance to tell her that being seen by the endocrinologist in August would be fine. I've been a type 1 diabetic for 36 years and never once in my career as a diabetic been discounted so quickly by a doctor's office staff. As a long term type 1 all I want is to be supported on this journey and help me navigate the sometime frustrating world of medications and patient care. There's CGM's and so much great technology that has made it possible for a stable type 1 to really take control of his/her care. No offense, but I don't need someone to tell me what to eat or how much insulin to take. As a career type 1, I just need your support and understanding on this lifelong journey. This practice and front desk staff gave the opposite of that, right off the start, where empathy and understanding is of most importance. I will be looking elsewhere, I recommend you do too."
"Doctor was nice, but had a prepared speech of what I needed to do and really did not listen to what I was saying."
"If I could give a no stars I would the first thing the doctor said was why are you even here even though the cardiologist referred me to this place because of elevated blood levels horrible personality very cold and uncaring i waited out in the rain for my husband to pick me up and they locked the door and they called security on me for walking out all I did was go out to call my husband i had no coat on and it was cold and pouring rain it was very uncalled for they said that I was yelling at my husband so they feared what he would do when he came he couldnt hear me from the rain and he was in sams so I had to talk loud so he could hear me i was then crying and they never once cared enough to see if I needed to stand inside to keep warm I would never treat someone like that !!"
