"This review, is in no way directed at the service technician but not happy with the experience. I originally called the manufacturer and was told I had a recall on my ice maker which they would replace for free and have installed for free but my current issue was not the Ice maker and they recommended I call Sloan who they also advised would be installing the new ice maker for free. I was advised by Sloan it was $115 to come out, and if I had it repaired, that would go towards the cost of repairs. The technician was prompt and very friendly but less than a half hour later all he did was remove some ice and install the new ice maker and tell me he is not sure if the ice maker was the issue but let them know if the issue persists and then was advised the cost for everything was $225. I was told I would get an email of the invoice and all I received was a blank invoice with the total. No breakdown of what I actually paid for. So basically it seems like I paid $225 for a part that was supposed to be installed for free had I just called to have to recall done. Now a few days later the original noise that started it all has started again. I'm not about to call again to be charged another $115 just to be told they "think" its fixed."
"Sloan Appliance Service was easy to schedule and they offered earlier service when they had a cancellation. The technician quickly diagnosed my dryer problem and had the needed supplies on hand. Sloan’s technician was polite and efficient and showed me the total service and parts cost as soon as he knew which supplies were necessary for the repair. My dryer has been working like new. I highly recommend Sloan and I will call them again if I have other appliance challenges."
"Scheduler quickly gave us an appointment , our technician was on time, knowledgeable, polite and helpful. He provided options for our repair & explained the benefits of replacing our gas range. Great experience all around. We have used Sloan several times over the years, they’ve always done and great job ."
"We had a poor experience with Sloan. We hired them to come fix our refrigerator that was not making ice and the water was not coming out of the dispenser anymore. The technician showed up on time and was very professional, but did not know what he was doing. He diagnosed the problem as a valve issue, ordered a new valve and came back in 2 weeks with the ordered part and installed it. ~$300 for the part and labor. Tests the ice/water, no change. He tries a few other things, nothing. Eventually he takes out the water filter, and it starts making ice and water. He says we have a bad water filter and just need to replace it. I ask if it can wait until we get back from vacation, he says it won't cause any issues. We pay the $300 for a new valve (that we didn't need) and order the filter online, it'll be waiting for us when we return from a vacation out of country. Two days later, the lady watching our house calls and says the fridge has a big leak and water is everywhere on our hardwood floors in the kitchen. I call Sloan and they put in a ticket, but can't come out for a few days. We get a friend to turn the water off and clean up. Fast forward to a week later when we return from our vacation and I call Sloan. They want to send the same young guy out who they sent before. I ask if that's my only option, or if they can send someone else, but the lady on the line says yes that's it. I tell her no thanks and that's the end of the interaction. Not a very good experience due to the mis-diagnosis, which led to a bit of an emergency. We picked them due to their incredibly high google reviews, but we won't be using them again."
