"Atlantic Coast has quite possibly the worst customer service we have experienced. My mom moved some money there into an annuity in the fall of 2022. She received a 1099-R in January for a distribution she had to take. Well, the 1099-R had the wrong amount! I'm not sure how this can even happen in the computer age. She called on February 6 and spoke with someone who immediately saw the error. She was told she would receive a corrected 1099-R "as soon as possible". When my mom called back on February 27, she was told it could take four weeks. Well, on March 13, she still did not have the corrected 1099-R. Having to call a 3rd time, she was told "well I see there is a request to have it sent". Even getting her agent, involved they are still telling her an ASAP request may take 5-7 days!!! This is unbelievable. We would withdraw all of her money from Atlantic Coast except she would incur penalties if she did so. I would recommend NEVER putting your money with Atlantic Coast."
