Wingate by Wyndham Columbia / Lexington

"Third time repeat customer to this hotel and don’t know if I’ll be a 4th. Don’t know if I got a crummy room for booking with points or not. Generally I pay a premium over nearby hotels to stay here. Got a room with a crack in the clock, a visibly dirty AC, and a bathroom that needed a makeover instead of the hastily sprayed paint over part of the ceiling and I don’t even know what the attempt on the drain was about. This would have been unsafe if my family was with me. The linens appeared clean and the breakfast was fine, but the room I was in no longer meets my expectation of what a Wingate by Wyndham should be."

"This is a wonderful hotel, especially for the price. All the employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. The room was stocked with everything we needed: toiletries, coffee, complimentary bottled water, an extra blanket and plenty of towels. The beds were reasonably comfortable. The breakfast was adequate, though nothing special. The lobby and breakfast area were clean, attractive and well-maintained. I definitely will stay at this Wingate whenever I'm in the area."

"Expedia overrated this place for sure. The first room they put us in was a handicap accessible room. This wasn’t a problem. The layers of dust coating everything were. The mildew smell was horrible. They moved us to another room. It wasn’t much better. Check those a/c filters! Caked with dust, and they’re fully washable. Breakfast was stale packaged muffins and decent bacon and nasty egg substance. Staff was friendly enough. But really unpleasant smelling hallways and filthy rooms."

"Room was clean . Didn't sleep the first night with the coming and going and the fire alarm and smell filling the room. Front desk didn't care. Not to mention if you spend anytime at the pool your kids will get an education in drug dealing first hand. FYI they charged us $10 for 1 bottle of Wingate water !! Didn't know till we got home and checked our credit card statement."

"I visit this place for an annual trip. Overall this place has slowly declined. I won't be booking here again next year. Pros: Good staff, breakfast is nice, happy hour is a perk, pricing seems decent, nice outdoor space Cons: The tv in the room had a crack in it (told a staff member about it and she didn't care) and behind the curtain someones kid had been writing on the wall. Also the clientele here seems to be increasingly rowdy."
