"Money grab! I’ve been dealing pain that has left me immobile on multiple days. I got a CT scan and bloodwork done. I had to reach out multiple times to get ahold of the nurse just to give me some kind of feedback. I had to make an appointment at a separate doctor’s office to try to figure out what’s going on. I called Charleston GI twice and gave them the fax number to send my scans over. I was told that it was done when in fact it wasn’t. This is a major issue because I made an appointment at the other doctors office. Took time off from work (which was a waste of time and money) to go to this appointment to review my bloodwork and scans, just to find out that none of the information had been sent over in the first place. My wish for this establishment is for them to pay more mind to their clientele. I am still in a lot of pain and cannot get into the doctors office to figure out what’s going on with me due to lack of communication. If you are in need of a G.I. specialist, I suggest you go to a smaller establishment that actually cares and listens to your issues and follows through. Not a corporate place where you’re just another bill that passes through and another dollar in their pocket."
"I had a remarkably easy experience with a colonoscopy yesterday at Charleston GI. From start to finish, I was treated with a high level of care and professionalism. The patient volume there is very high, but they still manage to be friendly and empathetic - which is commendable. Everything was explained well; all my questions were answered, and the results were given in detail. The followup call to check on me the next day was also a nice touch. A special shout-out to Amy, Maryanne, and Dr. Basile - I appreciate the first rate-care!"
"Do not recommend! Charged $300 for me to sit in a waiting room for an hour waiting, to be spoken to about what scope I wanted to do in 10 minutes! They still wanted me to pay $1000 out of pocket for an upper scope that I cancelled the appt to! What a rip off! Find someone else!"
"Doctors are good but you can only get a call back from the scheduler 1 out of 5 times. Edit to add some specifics: I had to reschedule an appt with the office because I couldn't get a referral sent in time after leaving messages over 2-3 weeks. Then never even had a different procedure done because after I missed the first call, I never got a call back after leaving a few messages after that, so then just gave up :/ Also, never got a call back from office admin."
"Had my first endoscopy here and more importantly-- for me-- my first time experiencing IV placement and sedation. I was nervous going in, not knowing exactly what to expect. First times for anything can be very nerve-wracking! I was so very grateful at the gentle and empathetic treatment I received by my nurses and efficiency by the doctor and anesthesiologist. I left the office feeling glad that I had the procedure done not only because I now had an actionable plan for what to do next in terms of my GI issues but also because the fear and anxiety about having to undergo any procedures/surgeries in the future was gone. My sincere thanks to the entire staff!"
