"You can't "heal" here. Not possible. I'm caucasion and was outwardly discriminated against just because of that. The medicine I vociferously objected to can cause Parkinsons.....no I'm not mistaking that for tardydisconisia, which I'm probably at risk for too. I was beaten by a 24 year old patient...I'm 62. They made an old man out of me. Before I went in, I felt physically 30 years old. Now I feel all of my 62 years."

"I was a patient in the early 80s and back then they had a children's unit which was Unit 10. I was physically and mentally abused by the staff. When I reported it to my "doctor" staff said I made it up and I was put in the "time out room" which was a cinderblock room with nothing but a gym mat and open air conditioning vent which had freezing cold air flowing 24/7. They would open the door long enough to throw water on me every 2 or 3 hours.I was left in there 18 hours or more any time I "misbehaved or didn't comply". I ended up with pneumonia more than once. I wish I could file a lawsuit for the was I was treated but Georgia has a very short statute of limitations."

"I am very unhappy with this hospital! My 89 year old grandmother is there in the emergency room and I’ve listened to her ask 6 different nurses to please help her to the restroom and every single one of them told to her “hold on”, “ok”, “let me get somebody.” At her age she cannot hold her bladder very long. She kept telling me she was about to urinate on herself. I got off the phone with her and called the hospital twice to which I stayed on hold for the emergency area for 10 mins each time. I never got an answer. It took 45 mins for someone to finally come help. I totally understand how busy the workers probably are however there has to be somebody in the whole building that can take a few mins to unhook a few machines! Where is the care and integrity. My elderly grandmother should not be treated this way."

"I tried to call to speak to a patient (cousin), who I was told by a police officer was transported here. When I called, they would not let me speak to them, would not deliver a message to them for me (as we have their phone, purse, etc.). The patient (my cousin) has no numbers, phone, etc. To reach any of us. Simply wanted to confirm the arrival and let them know someone knew where they were, so we could get them home from there. Staff offered no assistance or direction on how we could resolve the issue. Staff was rude, and completely worthless. Not sure why they even have employees, seems pointless after this experience."

"By day two I was so dehydrated they had problems drawing blood. The food served to us was enedible, cold, and disgusting with a metallic taste. The only thing given out that was good was the apples and oranges. While there I witnessed a man who needed to be hospitalized who was allowed to sit in his urine and feces all day in one spot while his cries for help ignored while the techs watched tv. I myself had to help the man urinate in his container several times and wheeled him to the dinner table though I wasn’t allowed to take him his food while getting mine he was left to sit and watch everyone else eat till the staff found time from their joking and laughing to bring the man his tray!! What food was edible I gave away because I couldn’t stand to see these people forced to eat portions that would leave my 2 yr old hungry. Patients were made fun of and laughed at and though a couple were way out in left field but gentle and kind treated lesser than an animal. Medical complaints ignored. The place was nasty and the staffs attitudes even nastier. I met 5 employees there that actually gave a damn. The others would rather step over or around puddles of urine than to clean it up. I wouldn’t wish this place on an enemy."
