"Had GREAT service. I felt very cared for, all the drs and nurses made me feel at home. The CEO even came by and was checking on patients."
"does great!"
"I would not send anyone I know to this facility. This place, known as Inter-medical Hospital before 2016 deserves all poor reviews still today. My mother was there for 3 1/2 long weeks because of short term rehab staffing issues. She has short term memory loss and was unable to walk due to a recent stroke, extensive surgery and extended hospital stay. She never received physical therapy at this hospital although it was ordered from day one and expected per the social worker who transferred her there from another hospital. I am a nurse and understand the stresses of the job, and it was very obvious this facility is understaffed. They employ travel nurses and LPNs that don’t necessarily understand the complexities of these patients. Most of the nurses, techs and secretaries were defensive and too “busy” to speak with family. There were a few gems, but not enough to make this place worth the financial and patient health cost. The CNO recognized the absence of physical therapy, and that the liaisons do a poor job of informing social work/patients and families of this insufficiency, and when my mother developed Covid, she and the medical director thought it necessary to isolate my mother and deny her the one visitor (her daughter, who just got over Covid and does the only daily PT/OT with her). And went on to state that they were about to deny visitors altogether for all patients. Did we not learn anything in 2020 about how this affects our most vulnerable patients?? They suggested “FaceTime”, however most times I called my mother, her cell phone was not charged and she couldn’t remember how to answer her hospital phone or it simply wasn’t working. Also, she couldn’t figure out where her call light was without my prompting and the secretary “Ann” at the nurses station who answered would sound highly annoyed and bothered by my once/shift call to ask that she call in the room to help my mom figure these things out. The nursing staff doesn’t seem to communicate much between shifts about their patients, and it appears to be a very run down, unfriendly, precarious situation for patients and families. It took 2days after I mentioned my moms cough and sore throat to test her for Covid, it took 4days and my inquiring for them to start her iron supplement for anemia after the doctor ordered it, etc. Staffing is lacking in time and knowledge to give these patients what they need and some just don’t care. The physician I spoke with was caring, knowledgeable and helpful and the wound care nurse was as well."
"I do not recommend this facility if your loved one is not able to speak or move on their own. It was supposed to be ICU level of care but it was not. The staff for the most part was not compassionate or to concerned for their patients. However, there are a couple of nurses that don't fall into that category. They seemed to be wrapped up in their own agenda to listen to what the loved ones have to say. If you are there by no choice please speak up for your love ones... your their voice."
