"To start, the front door apparently locks at 6pm. So, if you're not aware and do what most people do, you just think the sensor is broken to you pry open. Then you get yelled at by the staff because your supposed to use a phone in the corner, yet, nothing tells you to use a phone for entrance. Then, not sure where people get the staff is pleasant, the man checking me in just said, "last name", through key on counter and nothing else but ask me to initial a paper. Ni ID check, nothing. The floors are sticky, the room was OK, but you can definitely smell chemicals that cause your eyes to burn from cleaning. My guess, they were trying to hide the smoke smell where someone smoked in the room recently but wasn't supposed to. No idea about breakfast... They have a secured parking lot, but not really, the gate doesn't work and the security fence is about 5ft tall, so........"

"I stayed here because of the location. Close to the river walk, so I was able to go out for a run in the evening after work. The rooms are ok, clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast, typical of most HIE’s."

"My wife and I had to stay in Augusta after her surgery. So glad we chose HIE! Everything about this hotel deserves 5 stars. Kelly, at the front desk, put us in a room that was convenient and accessible. The room was neat and clean and the breakfast was delicious."

"The location is great. The floor in the room was sticky. The toilet seat is very loose. Plus I couldn't open the door to the room without putting my shoulder into it and kicking it closed. So annoying. I'm sure other rooms are fine but I wouldn't stay here again. Staff is very nice"

"The 2 stars are for great customer service! However, it didn't make up for the outdated unclean rooms. Upon entering my room, I was hit with a strong urine odor. I had to go buy febreze and spray all over the carpet to go to sleep. There is no luggage rack. The sheets were not very clean. The carpet was filthy. I like that the parking is gated and they have a security guard but then I questioned my safety because why is all this needed? I checked out early the next day and chose to stay at a different hotel. As a solo female business traveler, I have to feel comfortable."
