"We wanted to go to the beach and we were not staying by the water. We picked this public beach because it was wheelchair accessible. They have beach wheelchairs that you can rent if available. You go on the website to reserve ahead of time if you need one. We didn’t end up needing the wheelchair but it was a great little beach. You could rent chairs and umbrellas. Which we did because we didn’t have the ability to haul anything in. Then sat by the beach on a nice warm summer day. Couldn’t get much better with the salty sticky breeze. I would recommend this beach. It was great. Like any of the beaches you do have to walk in if you need to use the restrooms. Nothing on the beach other than the ocean. Lol. They had lifeguards on duty monitoring the beach and the waters. You do need to bring your money or change to pay to park. Which is normal around Hilton head public parking areas."
"Nice beach access. Clean restrooms. Playground at the parking area. Ramps and walking mat to allow beach access for a wheelchair. Plenty of space between the water and dunes for setting up chairs etc. Most parking was designated for residents but there were limited spots with meters for non residents. 1 quarter for every 15 minutes during the time we were there."
"Our favorite spot on the island to enjoy gorgeous sunrises, walk with our Labradoodle, savor the waves crashing upon the shore, and spend time soaking in the sun. Not too crowded, clean facilities, and it's nice finding a parking spot with our paid pass."
"Nice, warm beach. Clean and neat with beach toys, and books to borrow. Not too crowded. The only negative was that my daughter got bitten by what we are assuming to be jellyfish not even 5 min into entering the water."
"This beach is a gem - whether you come here once per year, once a quarter, once a month, or live here, this beach is convenient and fun. Parking is metered and limited (unless you have a local pass or staying in resort). We frequently go in the morning and there are plenty of spots available. The community of dog walkers and mix of local and tourists is fun. The views are awesome and the paths convenient to walk in (sand path is covered with harder service so easy to access for kids, wheelchairs, elderly, etc.) Great facilities and clean bathrooms/showers."
