Driessen Beach Park

"This was pretty good for accessiblity as a wheelchair user. They have a boardwalk and a mat to roll down to the beach. I have a manual wheelchair and my husband was able to push me about 10 feet through the soft sand to get closer to the beach. Once on the sand, it was pretty firm, and I have a front wheel to get my smaller front wheels out of the sand. They do have beach chairs to rent, but I feel more comfortable in my own chair."

"Such a great beach park! We were lucky enough to get free parking since there was some construction going on, but I would have rated a 4 if we had to pay... It was supposedly the off season, in October, but the weather was absolutely perfect. It was kind of a long walk to the beach from the parking lot, so good thing we weren't carrying anything heavy. There were pretty nice bathrooms and showers at the facility by the parking lot too. The bugs got a little annoying when the sand fleas started biting, but I was able to find a handful of small shells, and the beach was really clean. We will definitely be back!!"

"This park is at the entrance to the beach and is perfect for those who come with their children and want a break from the sun. Playground, good shade, grill, tables and right next to it, you will find the bathrooms and showers. The beach is beautiful, quite crowded in high season, but very calm afterwards. It has a nice boardwalk through the vegetation until you reach the beach. Without a doubt, one of my favorite beaches in Hilton Head. The parking lot is large and on several occasions we found the parking meter broken."

"Nice beach, clean restrooms and outdoor showers. Beach is ideal for long walks on the beach and beach sports. Only problem was the sea weed on the shore, but that could be seasonal. There is a nice kids play area as well under the tree shades. Dedicated ample metered parking but you have to get here early, maybe before 10 AM to get the parking spot in busy season."

"Beautiful park, plenty of parking. Had 3 RV/bus designated parking spaces - paid $.50 /hr. Well maintained, clean bathrooms. Close walk to the beach from the parking lot. Really liked the walkway. Had a playground for kids under age 13."
