Reviews
"Pros: good location and super Ering + staff are great. Cons: Countertops stain extremely easily. Washer works but dryer needs to be run 3 times for each load. Or just wash one item at a time. Construction has been going on for the past year. They have a jackhammer going off right outside peoples windows at 9am on random days. Trying to reach property owners is impossible. Once they get you on a lease they ghost you. Conclusion: don’t live here."
"I am also adding to previous comments. I am a current resident and I am LIVID that they have removed 24 hour doorman which is what I would expect to have for the rent we are paying for this “luxury building.” I don’t feel safe at night at all without the doorman. Countertops are cheap and the ovens, dishwasher, sinks are half size and are useless. The unit washer and dryer are absolutely useless too. We will not be renewing our lease."
"FUTURE RENTERS BEWARE: Echoing previous comments, as of recently, this building is now under new (clearly very slimy) management. Unfortunately, I see this building going downhill very, very quickly. I feel compelled to write this review as I wish I had a warning before re-signing my lease. A few things you should take into consideration before signing the dotted line: - The first thing new management has done, is take away our nighttime doorman service (I’m assuming it’s not long before they take it away completely, as they are in the process of implementing a virtual doorman). Please take into consideration that the doorman service provides an extra level of safety (especially at night). - This building is above three restaurants. One of the restaurants had a grease fire that started in the kitchen. The fire was not contained, and traveled up the duct pipe (which is shared with our building), and onto our the roof. By the time I realized something was wrong, I peaked my head out the door, and the hallway was FILLED with smoke. I would like to make it absolutely clear that NO FIRE ALARM WENT OFF AT ALL. This was an incredibly terrifying situation for me and several other tenants. Please find photo attached for reference. - A few notes regarding the interior: The kitchen countertops are THE WORST. They are made out of concrete and will soak anything up that sits on them for more than 5 seconds (which obviously isn’t ideal, given that it’s a kitchen). The floors are old and dull and cause splinters when walking around without slippers. Also, the washer / dryer in the 1 bedroom apts is almost useless - it washes fine, but the dryer will ruin your clothes. I will say that the best thing about this building is the superintendent, Bale. He always goes above and beyond to make you feel at home."
"My best NYC apartment experience! The building has full windows and wonderful city views. A real compliment to the high end appliances and finishes throughout the apartment. We also have a live-in Super, who is meticulous about the maintenance of the building. The gym is spotless, with all the equipment you would ever need, and looks out over a finished deck for the residents. The location is totally convenient. Restaurants and movie theaters, drug and grocery stores, banking and dry cleaning, are all steps away. The Union Square Greenmarket, Washington Square Park and the nightlife of the Lower East Side are within easy walking distance. Shopping and gallery hopping in nearby SoHo is a fabulous way to spend a day off. And at the end of the day, you have the perfect, quintessential NYC apartment to come home to!"
"My daughter and I recently visited this immaculate beautiful boutique building. She brought it to my attention due to its proximity to NYU where she will be a junior in the fall. I told her if she continues to get straight A’s I will rent for her, her dream apartment. I am so proud of her and what she has accomplished so far. The great amenities are a huge step up from her current shared apartment but as a proud father this makes me happy to do this for my baby daughter. Proud Dad"
