"Elevators are always broken, washing machines are always broken, if washing machines do work they don't wash your clothes. Management group doesn't seem to care. Looks nice but it's all a facade"
"Best Building in the Financial District! Great Management, Beautiful apartments! Don't be fooled by these other reviews! Reminds me of my Ex Roommate just complaining to complain for no apparent reason! We all know the types! Love this beautiful Building!"
"The guys who work here are nice. But the management of this building is trash. - if you have any furniture longer than 80” you’re out of luck because it won’t fit in any of the elevators. There is no real service elevator. - they don’t air condition the lobby, elevators, or hallways - don’t trust when you receive documentation with your lease saying that the scaffolding will be taken down by X date. It won’t be taken down. - this doesn’t have to do with the building management necessarily? but the construction of the building next door is incredibly disruptive- it’s v loud starting early every morning, it literally vibrates the entire building to the point that every so often people think there’s a major event happening and management has to send out an email saying it’s safe. Not sure I even believe them. - the lobby looks nice but the hallways are terrible and from what I’ve heard there’s no plan to renovate. - two laundry rooms with ~5 washers and 4 dryers each for 15 floors. And they are terrible, smelly, breaking regularly, and $3.50 a cycle to start. - 4 elevators, at least one of which always seems to be down, so the elevator takes forever. - Don’t think you won’t have your rent raised by a lot each year, you will - obviously no amenities"
"Would give zero stars if I could. Management: Unresponsive to emails and calls. Can never connect with someone via phone. Unit: The unit is fine but the fire alarm goes off every time I turn on the over because it smells like gas is leaking from the appliance. I was told by maintenance that the fire alarm is just sensitive and the smell of gas is normal. Noise: New building construction next door, construction debris pickup in the middle of the night, typical NY traffic...EVERYTHING can be heard through the very thin windows. I have to break my lease due to a family emergency and management couldn't care less. I will owe $8,400 to leave early my lease 3 months early."
"100 John Stay away!!! I love my physical apartment, but everything else ruins the experience. 1. Management - completely unresponsive to emails and phone calls 2. Construction - lobby construction started shortly after I moved in (leasing agents never gave me a heads up). It was supposed to be finished after a couple of months. The new “lobby” is now open, but the entrance is not. Residents have to enter through a back entrance that’s not safe. Management won’t give a straight answer as to when the new entrance will be open. There’s scaffolding on my terrace that should’ve been gone by now but they won’t give a straight answer on that timeline either. 3. Laundry - machines are always broken 4. Safety - why pay for a doorman building if they let everyone up? My father came to visit, couldn’t remember my apartment number, and asked the doorman. He gave the doorman my name and the doorman looked up my apartment number and gave it to him!!! He could’ve been a stalker or complete stranger 5. Hot water - they will turn off the hot water at 8am (peak time to get ready in the morning) but won’t tell you that it’s off for hours after you already took a freezing cold shower 6. Fires - apparently the tenant before me BURNED the apartment down. Would’ve been nice for the management to let me know this before moving in and having another tenant let me know months later 7. Valet - the package room is only open from 7:30am-7pm. It makes it impossible for people who work long hours to get their packages."
