Reviews
"Dr. E is pleasant to be with. She gets everything done efficiently while also listening to extraneous information I tell her. She did a great job with my surgery. Her office took care of an initial rejection from my insurance. Staff in the office are mostly friendly. I need a few tests every time I go (annually) but usually they are efficient enough so I don't feel like I am wasting my time."
"I am so grateful that I used Dr.Victoria Epstein services for my mom. She performed an eyelid surgery. It was a painless experience and now my mom look much younger, and she gets so many complements after procedure. Dr.Epstein is very knowledgeable and always available for any questions or issues."
"Dr Epstein was very thorough and left no stone unturned. I saw her for my headaches and occasional double vision. After performing all of the tests, she ordered me an MRI so that we could rule out anything major. She was very professional and personable and she actually listened to everything I complained about. I recommend Dr Epstein to everyone, as she was an amazing Dr from start to finish. She was also great with my kids when I brought them into my appointment with me."
"Dr Epstein is one of the most caring and knowledgeable doctors I've ever been to. She really listens and, if necessary, goes out of her way to help her patients. I always feel like I'm getting the best care for my eye health . She takes the time to make sure all my questions are answered. She is super thorough, I highly recommend her"
"I made an appointment with Dr. Epstein for my third grader's first eye exam. I was surprised that at Albany Eye Associates, where Dr. Epstein sees patients, nearly the entire exam is done by a technician, not by Dr. Epstein herself. That was very different than my own experiences being seen by many different ophthalmologists over the years as I have lived in different places -- usually my entire exam is done by the doctor. In our case, being examined by the tech was a terrible experience, very traumatic to my daughter, because the technician seemed to have little experience and no rapport with children, did not explain what she was doing, etc. We saw Dr. Epstein very briefly at the end of the visit, and she also seemed to make little effort to treat this patient as A CHILD. She seemed to scold my daughter for having difficulty deciding whether "A or B" lens options helped her see better, and told me that next time my daughter and I need to "get on the same page" about dilation (which the technician had attempted, but which my daughter found extremely painful and was sobbing). I asked Dr. Epstein how the practice dealt with this with other children and she replied flippantly, "We have a lot of crying and screaming." As we exited, I was handed a eyeglass prescription that didn't make sense to me based on what I'd observed during my daughter's exam. I decided to take her for a second opinion, and that ophthalmologist came up with a different prescription. (In fairness, the second doctor said that while she felt her own prescription would be better for my daughter, she didn't think Dr. Epstein's was bad and said it would not have caused harm.) It's possible that Dr. Epstein is knowledgeable and works well with adult patients (I don't know). I would not recommend her for patients who are children, and will not be returning to her."
