Reviews of The Marmara Park Avenue
"Upon check-in, I thought that the room was smaller than shown online. Tyler immediately took care of us and gave me a free upgrade to a much nicer and much larger room! The room had an actual kitchen with full size fridge. I've never seen that before i a NYC hotel. Overall, service from the staff here was top notch. Any requests from the front desk were taken care of immediately. Marmara is smaller boutique hotel, and I mean it in a good way. They actually take care of you unlike the big, huge chains where you are a faceless customer."
"I was charged over $100 a day for a breakfast package for one of my 2 rooms. I was not informed of this… I never even had coffee at the hotel. My room that was 100$ cheaper was beautiful, the more expensive room had a leaking shower that flooded the bathroom after showering and the light didn’t work in the bathroom. The carpet had stains and the heater sounded like a jet aircraft. This place is hit or miss with the rooms. I stayed there while my wife was in the hospital donating a kidney. I was only sleeping in the room between 11pm and 4:30am, had they mentioned the “breakfast package “ I would have said not needed. When I questioned the higher rate afterwards when I had to call to request a copy of my bill I was told there was nothing they could do. The hotel is next to a homeless shelter so when you leave you run a gauntlet of pan handlers. I am one who works with and am an advocate for the homeless but when I’m going to the hospital to visit my wife, I don’t need the guilt of not being able to help 20 men with there hands out the week before Christmas. I did have room service steak dinner which was about as good as airplane food. Three cocktails were 85$ and tasted like the doorman made them. Management is confrontational and accusatory when you need help. No hospitality here. They just want money. Plenty of other hotels in this area. Avoid this one!!"
"My partner and I stayed here on a busy December weekend. The staff was always very nice- from check-in and out, to getting the doors and elevators for us, and always greeting us with a smile. The room was spacious, clean, and updated. There was an iPad with a lot of information on it as well as internet browser use. The heat worked great. The bathroom was very clean and beautiful, with a nice glass-door shower and large sink. The building was always very quiet despite being filled with people. The location was perfect for our trip- close enough to walk many places, a Metro stop right outside the door, and far enough away from the downtown area to prevent loud noises and disturbances. I can't recommend this hotel enough!"
"Had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Leslie, Benny, and Angie were so friendly and took care of all of my needs without fail. They even gave me a free upgrade to a much bigger room. Hotel is very nice with a rooftop bar and pool and everything you can ask for. The location may not be for everyone though. It's a quieter part of NYC near office buildings and away most from attractions."
"Beautiful hotel with nice designs. We originally went to enjoy their rooftop lounge, but it rained and sadly they closed early. The lobby was so nice we decided to test the lobby bar. Drinks were good, service from the girls in the bar was exceptional. Outstanding and unique hotel design."
