"I have called this place 5 times, I've emailed many times as well and I submitted an adoption application. Not a single response. I can understand that everyone is busy and the adoption process is complicated but how hard is it to respond back to an email? A quick acknowledgement takes less than 30 seconds. This is terribly irresponsible, especially since adoption is such an emotional process. I have an impeccable record and have even cared for disabled dogs but this place couldn't even be bothered to respond."

"This is hands down the best place I have ever been to for animal adoption. I was assuming the typical animal shelter setting when I arrived, walls lined with kennels of dogs, fencing and concrete everywhere. However, Mountain Haven was a surprisingly different setting. When I walked in, I immediately felt the positive vibes from staff, customers, and animals alike. The setting was beautiful and welcoming. A lot of open space, animals either free roaming or in spacious living areas where they could be seen happily thriving. I liked that the animals seemed so genuinely happy. It was great to see that there was a room for grooming, tables and chairs setup so you could sit with the animals, and a section of any supplies you may need for your new family member. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they share the building with an animal hospital, where they get all the care that an animal may need. I felt welcomed and never felt pressure to adopt, leave, or anything negative. The atmosphere was completely positive and inviting. I ended up adopting my little Ollie, a sweet Havanese. They were extremely flexible on a deposit to hold him as well as giving me a few days to get necessary supplies for him before I took him home. Upon adoption day, all of the paperwork was presented in a clear manner, showing all vaccinations that had been given so far and anything that he may have still needed to get. Ample time was taken to explain policies and anything else. I was also helped to find an appropriate sized harness and leash. I would very highly recommend Mountain Haven to anyone looking to adopt a pet. They rescue animals and give them the best care possible and tons of love. If a particular pet is never adopted, they keep him or her there and make Mountain Haven their forever home.
