"Did not enjoy or feel valued my entire residency at this place. This place is absolutely not first time renter friendly. Management has made it by design that they never want to speak to you or see you at all. Hence paying an exrra $6.75 a month just to pay your rent and excessive amenities fees online. (You pay for pest control every month, but they only come and spray your unit every 3 months.) When my apartment had flooding due to unprecedented rainfall, I was only communicated to through maintenance notes. When I finally reached the manager over the phone, my questions and concerns about how this would be prevented in the future were dismissed with comments that "other units were much worse than yours" and "while you may live here we own the property and are going to protect our investment." No real answer about how future water would be kept from coming in. My bathroom had gray water leak through the ceiling from the unit above several times. They finally found the leak upstairs, but only painted over the water damage. And future renters note, you can hear everything your neighbors say or do in their apartments, conversations outside your unit, etc with these paper thin walls. The only positive is the location, but with the pattern of flooding the Pinecrest community has had in recent years, you'll probably be washed out of here."
"So far, it's not great, actually rather terrible, and management clearly is not interested in doing her job. She all but ran and hid the first time I've ever even seen her (some MIA woman named Rhonda, apparently). I will update if this improves. They charge an outrageous pet fee of 300 per cat in an old unfurnished apartment, and so you'd think, oh well, that must mean they really take care of these places, right? Wrong. They wouldn't let me view this place literally until the day I moved in, upon which I discovered the whole apartment absolutely REEKED of cigarette smoke, and no one thought to even mention this to me before I moved. Huge health Hazzard, BTW. Then, of course, I go to ask this to be addressed so my furniture isn't marinating in an ash tray they said, "Oh, sorry, the manager is on vacation." These people are always on vacation, and I was not surprised. So, of course, I did all the work myself and contacted local counsel for future issues, because I've seen people like this before, and I'm sure they cut more than one corner if this is how they start out. Not even an explanation or any kind of sincere apology, just some poor girl at the desk blubbering through a quick "Sorry", which really came out more like, "Help, I don't know what I'm doing, my manager is on vacation, and I have no authority or knowledge." Stay away from this place. If you don't have to rent under one year, find something else actually worth the money."
"Customer service here is excellent, Rhonda helped us with our move in and she has outstanding customer service. We had a very easy and stress free move in from out of state. The property is beautiful and very well maintained."
"Absolutely would not recommend living here. It’s overpriced, and the office uses scare tactics and lies anytime you have an issue. Had mold in my heat/air unit and was told that wasn’t true, then got accused of cutting the wire to my own heat during a snow storm after maintenance came to look at it. Either the maintenance man cut it or they were just trying to scare me into moving out early. extremely unprofessional management, and their trick is to try to get you to sign a lease online before seeing the apartment - and to get me to do that, I was lied to about having washer and dryer connections until the day I got my key when I was told I didn’t. “Newly renovated apartments” just means a bottom floor one bedroom with an ear wig infestation when you first move in."
"The views on my morning walk with my 2 pups on this fantastic 30 acre property are absolutely stunning. Such a pet friendly community & only 15 minutes from gorgeous Watauga Lake for even longer walks. Love the fireplace! Our townhouse is so cozy on the edge of a lovely forest. We see up to 5 deer every morning. So quiet & safe! Maintenance team is friendly & the office ladies are quite efficient. Affordable pricing to boot makes this the ideal place to call home in the area!"
