"I work in the mental health field, Call was made to this facility where my patient has been seen in the past. A woman named Janette answered the phone and she was so completely rude to myself and my patient. She refused to schedule us a appt, unless we spoke to a nurse first, explained what was going on with my pt and she responded with, "well what would you like me to do?!" When explained what was going on, She stated, "well that's not helpful" explained I just needed a follow up appt. Cut me off and just transferred me to a voicemail in the middle of my sentence. I called back and again just cut me off and again transferred me. No regard to my patient or myself. No compassion, It shouldn't be this hard to obtain a appt for my patient with a known history there. People should not be treated this way. In my field, patients get discouraged easily to seek out treatment, due to ridicule and boundaries like this horrible woman. At the end of it all my patient feel so defeated that she thanked me and told me not to try anymore. I felt like crying. All because this woman Janette. I hope she knows what a impact she is causing by her terrible attitude in the community. I will continue to try to make a appt for my patient."
"I've been to see Dr. Barlin before a couple of years ago. She was very nice. At the time, she felt I didn't need to pursue any further treatment. Recently, my OBGYN recommended that I go see Dr. Barlin again for recent changes to my health. I called Women's Cancer Care for two days straight and finally got a hold of someone named Janette in the Poughkeepsie location. She didn't ask for my information. She never looked up my account. She told me I will need to be referred by my Dr. again. I asked what that meant in terms of procedure. She gave me a short answer as if I were bothering her. When it comes to Cancer treatment and someone is worried for their future, would it kill them to take a second to go over what they need without being rude and making a patient pull information out of them that should just be offered? I don't work in their office. How am I to know what their office procedures are? I'm going through a horrible and scary time in my life, I could do without the curt answers and brush off. I will find a more compassionate and professional office that's actually interested in caring for patients."
