Reviews
"I can’t say enough positive things about TMS restoration psychiatry. Dr. Alao is incredibly knowledgeable & answered all of my questions thoroughly during my initial intake. Abbey was my initial technician & her professionalism is unmatched. The entire staff is kind, patient, thorough & professional. They are also very flexible with appointments & will work with your schedule. I have seen a huge overall improvement in my mental health since beginning TMS after trying many other avenues & finding little success in them. My only complaint is that I wish I had heard of this sooner!"
"Mental health needs to be addressed and I'm thankful I now can allow myself to be open about my own battle with depression, anxiety and PTSD. Introducing TMS, transcranial magnetic stimulation, in simple terms, TMS stimulates specific areas of the brain to provide relief and break the cycle of depression. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a new neurophysiological technique based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. When a pulse of current passes through a coil, it becomes a magnetic field and penetrates the scalp and skull, and reaches the brain painlessly. It's FDA approved for the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD and obsessive-compulsive disorders. The first FDA approval for repetitive TMS treatment and depression happened in 2008. Deep TMS is the only non-invasive medical device FDA-cleared for short-term smoking cessation. It uses electromagnetic pulses to stimulate neurons in the bilateral insula and prefrontal cortex, reducing tobacco cravings and increasing cognitive control. NeuroStar delivers their advanced and unique form of TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation), a non-invasive therapy that uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain that are underactive. The NeuroStar Advanced Therapy System is indicated for the treatment of depressive episodes and for decreasing anxiety symptoms for those who may exhibit comorbid anxiety symptoms in adult patients suffering from Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and who failed to achieve satisfactory improvement from previous antidepressant medication treatment in the current episode. Dr. Alao and his TMS technicians are a Godsend! They are all equally supportive, kind and friendly. They create a calm and safe environment which makes a world of difference. I have been through the treatment and honestly it has changed my entire life in the most positive of ways. I now wholeheartedly believe there is hope beyond medication."
"I had a ton of questions about what TMS was and how it worked- the staff kindly answered all of my questions without hesitation. The atmosphere of the office is relaxed, and felt warm and comfortable. It’s very different from many unpleasant and even uncomfortable clinical settings I have been in. Highly recommend!"
"I was charged $160 for a less than 10 minute “consult” with the doctor there, basically just introducing himself since I had no questions at all. I was told my insurance wouldn’t be accepted AFTER this phone call, and then never heard back from TMS Restoration Psychiatry ever again until getting this bill in the mail. They claimed that they knew my insurance wasn’t covered by them, but that some people choose to do self pay, but NEVER called to see if I wanted to do self pay. Sounds like a scam to me."
"The treatment in the staff were great. But my insurance was never checked as I had asked it to be. I had sent Dr. Alao my insurance information, and he said I was covered. I never received any kind of information about copayments or how much it was going to be. Well, over a year later, after I was assured by Dr. Alao himself that he was in net work. I received a bill for $3000. I am very disillusioned."
