NYU Langone Hospital Long Island

"I don't know much except for the radiation dept. They are wonderful. However, the parking attendants are rude, not helpful, and used a term I could never get away with using. When leaving the lot as a patient undergoing radiation, you leave where you don't need to pay. They arrows are against a wall with no words or actual information. There are two choices, and i made the wrong one. The attendant didn't want to help. He wanted me to take a ticket and pay. When he finally came over, he said' "YOU people don't know how to read signs!". Oh, so is the YOU referring to me as a woman, a white woman, or a cancer patient? BTW, there aren't any words to read!"

"The nursing Assistant, her name is Lorraine are very rude. I was sitting next to the door in my patient room, she barging into the room telling me “oh you not supposed to sit there, you can sit next to the wall near my patient” when i finally put the chair next to my patient, I faced the chair besides my patient bed, this women had the audacity to tell me “ why do you have to sit facing the patient.” I finally snapped at her asking her, why you have to be so rude, she said “well I’m Jamaican that’s how I speak.” I said okay. If you don’t like your job why doing it. I have Jamaican friends and they don’t speak to human so disrespectful. Her culture has nothing to do the way she speak to patients members in the hospital."

"I am a patient of Dr. Richard Roberts (OB/GYN). Dr. Roberts delivered our daughter here and she was in the NICU for 38 days after. Dr. Roberts is an incredible surgeon and kind man who helped put me at ease during this difficult time. The entire NICU team is absolutely phenomenal. They are beyond patient, knowledgeable and attentive. My daughter would not be where she is today if not for Dr. Roberts and the NICU team. From the bottom of my heart, thank you."

"Doctors, Nurses, Aids, and all staff are people too!!! Treat them how you want to be treated and keep in mind you are not the only person/patient they have to assist. My daughter was in this Hospital for 35 days... I was able to get to see a lot of what goes on. I'm happy to say I will go there anytime, the staff showed me they will go the extra mile to make sure my daughter received the best care and were the only ones to properly treat her condition."
