Select Specialty Hospital - Erie

"My husband came to select specialty after having Covid to try and get off the ventilator. I cannot even properly describe how awful and traumatizing our experience was there . Most of the staff was so incredibly unprofessional and horrible . My husband in the end decided to go on comfort care , his room was outside the nurses station and as he passed all I could hear was the nurses laughing and carrying on . I would never suggest going to this hospital to anyone ."

"My husband has been hospitalized for a month now. He suffered congested heart failure and it was in addition to his other health issues (Type 2 Diabetes, COPD, Sleep Apnea, and the list goes on). He received good care from the first hospital - they were really good. Then he was transferred to Select Specialty Hospital - Erie for the last several weeks. The care and attention that he received from the 2nd floor nurses, doctors, coordinators, and even the kitchen staff was truly amazing. The attention they gave him was always immediate, friendly, and very professional. In this environment I saw his health improve rapidly. I am forever in gratitude for everyone at Select Specialty Hospital. My husband will be coming home soon. My sincere thank you and gratitude for everything you do for our loved ones...and for us."

"The staff at Select Specialty were amazing! The care my husband received during his stay was top notch. The nurses and respiratory therapists always took the time to discuss his treatment and or listen to any concerns I had. The CNA were all so kind and respectful. All the people there were friendly and courteous to not only him but myself as well. Once he was able to eat he was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. If you need this type of facility I highly recommend this hospital!"

"Words CANNOT EXPRESS my love for this place and the wonderful staff. My mother has been in and out of many places and they are by far the best place she has been when she becomes sick. The front desk receptionist is an angel sent from above, I come in every day to visit and there’s never a day when she’s not the sweetest and happiest person, even on holidays! I look forward to coming in and seeing her smiling face, she’s incredibly helpful, and you could just sit and talk to her for hours! When my mother first came into the hospitial we had a meeting in which the CEO met with us, along with all of the staff and it was just so amazing. They show they really care here, they treat my mother like she’s family. I can leave knowing that she will be taken care of. I’ve walked in on them braiding her hair, then talking to her even if she can’t talk back. They always keep us up to date, and are constantly making sure we’re happy and are constantly asking if there’s anything else they can do to improve. Seriously this place and the staff deserve an award they are absolutely amazing!"

"Worst hospital we have been to yet. Most of the staff was amazing, with a few exceptions. My husband a Marine had his Nurse call button unplugged, he was called a complainer, laid flat even thought signs were posted against it. My husband has ALS and is suffering enough. I had to argue with staff about his care. I will not recommend this facility. Also, the rule of no eating or drinking during your visit is rediculas."
