"Used Dr Clock for two clocks. He never could get them running for long. I paid him a great deal of money and, after more than a year back and forth and getting charged significant money each time, I became increasingly frustrated. There was supposed to be a warranty on the work but I didn't argue because I just wanted the clocks to be fixed. After over a year of back and forth - I ultimately had to use another clock repair person to get them running. They had no problems. One of the clocks simply needed cleaning which I had already paid Dr Clock for at the front end of the repair process. I can't say he didn't repair things on the clocks that needed repair but he could never keep them running for long. I have no answer for why the one clock only needed cleaning when Dr. Clock insisted I pay him for a large sum for cleaning the same clock at the start."
"Arthur Finn is the best, as far as I'm concerned. He's been working on my family's old clocks for years. Just yesterday we picked one up. Nothing but the best service."
"Arthur Finn had my antique clock for over one year. I took in a clock that ran and chimed beautifully, but it did not keep proper time. I was told it was a very nice clock, unusual, and that it needed a cleaning and was given an estimate of $600. After eight months and $800.88, I got my clock back and it did not work. I returned it and Mr. Finn admitted an apprentice worked on it and told me he would make it right. Fair enough. More months went by and I was notified that it was ready to pick up. When I picked it up, I was told it was working, but that certain notes of the chimes now skipped! I expressed great concern about that and he told me he would work on it some more. He told me to leave it a bit longer. At this visit, I noticed the face of the clock was missing some brads and asked if he would please repair that. The next time I came to retrieve it, the brads were not in place, the chimes were still ruined and when we got it home, it did not run. He came to the house this time (right before the holidays) and assured me it would work. He was gone a mere ten minutes and it stopped working. I called after the holidays and he asked me to bring it in again. By this time, I had lost ALL confidence that this man knows what he is doing with my clock. I told him I did not want him working on it any more...that I rightfully had zero confidence that he would a) do the original work request which was to clean it and make it keep proper time and b) fix the chimes which he ruined. I now have to take him to Court because he will not return the money I paid for services rendered but certainly not received (it appears and is my assumption that he even caused further damage to the clock...after all, it was in possession). I adamantly DO NOT recommend Mr. Finn to work on any clock DUE TO ME PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH HIS WORK. I highly recommend that you, at the very least, have another professional look at it. Also, perhaps ask how much business he has currently. Computer how many clocks are in his shop to other professionals in the area. From my observations, other shops have much more business and that may be a telling sign. Please research it first, especially if the piece is an antique and has any meaning to you and your family."
