Reviews
"After braiding my hair for couple decades at usually African hair braiding businesses, from Harlem to Queens I find that in ALL of them there’s room for improvements in attitude, cleanliness/odor of the business and sometimes persons, and in braiding. The customer simply has to decide which aspect of the business they’re going to be ok with. Basically it’s 6 of one and 1/2 dozen of the other. Not much differences between these businesses. Bottom line."
"I have been coming to Lucky since 2012/2013 till now, she moved to 3 different locations on the Ave I followed her, I’m never disappointed. Even when all the braiders are busy, lucky will make phone calls to try and accommodate you. All these Negative Reviews about Mrs. Lucky Hair Braiding Salon are ridiculous, first of the price is discussed before anything, and during the process you can feel your hair, touch the braids and they will definitely give you a mirror to take a look, and if you don’t like your hairstyle why sit there and waited until is done to complain? I have recommend so many people to Lucky and I have not heard one complaint, so people need to be honest with themselves first."
"If you’re cool with Lucky pulling you to a chair and having someone start your hair and then leave to do another customer’s, this place is for you. I’ve never met a more greedy, money hungry, self centered person. Even if you’re not satisfied, she still has her hand out. Terrible place, never again. Don’t even make eye contact with her store. She is watching. Once she sees you outside and she approaches you, and she ever so slowly guides you into the shop, it may be too late…"
"Don’t come here. You will not leave here satisfied. They are extremely talented in poor parting or messing up simple hairstyles (how can you mess up peekaboo braids???). They don’t give you the mirror until the end so you are forced to pay an arm and leg for the mediocrity. Oh, and one time they braided my mask into my hair."
"Lucky is money hungry. Came here for a year but every visit I left vowing to chose a new braider. The price was reasonable at first but when she wanted to increase price and I resisted, she would tell braiders to make the parts bigger, just anything that opposed what I asked for. She even went as far as to continuously write small notes on a napkin to the braider about how to sabotage my hairstyle. So…yeah, not this shop. There are other braiders!"
