"I was a patient of KPA/Dr. Gilmer growing up, and they always said I was fine. However, their poor care has actively decreased my quality of life for years, and it will take time, money, medication, and surgery to fix. Since beginning college, I have been diagnosed with pectus excavatum, scoliosis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, severe chronic depression, anxiety, and two EDs (due to the doctors constantly telling me that my BMI was normal, but in the upper range, and I needed to lose 10-20 lbs). The doctors don’t listen, or assume children can’t accurately speak for themselves. Nursing staff varies in quality and competency. Office staff was frequently rude, both in person and on the phone. Take your kids here if you don’t care about them."

"Pay attention to the negative reviews. After moving to Knoxville (where almost everyone is really nice and helpful!), we had the displeasure of dealing with staff at this office. After trying for over a month to get my kids established as patients and trying to schedule their first appointment, I finally directly told one of the staff on the phone that the experience was negative and disorganized and staff were rude. I was then called by the office manager who said they decided they would not see my kids. Seriously, it was a mess. I had to call 5-6 times, fill out paperwork ahead of time before even getting scheduled, had staff question me about no birth history on my ADOPTED children and ended up giving up and going elsewhere. I called another office the same day and my kids were seen two days later. The good reviews of the doctors here are not worth it."

"We just moved to the area. Online reviews for pediatricians around Knoxville aren’t great, but we eventually decided on the KPA Cross Park office. This office deserves way better reviews than it has. We’ve had several children seen here now, and I’m so glad we decided on this office. Everyone we’ve met from the front office staff, nursing team, and doctors have been so friendly and professional. I really appreciate that this office will do same day sick visits, Saturday hours, and combine well visits for up to 2 kids at a time (so convenient if you have multiples with birthdays around the same time!) The only issue I’ve had is that this office is slightly behind the times. Our last office in Nashville had online check-in via email, and used tablets if you didn’t do the online check-in option which made appointment registration so fast! Filling out LESS paperwork is always a plus for me! Overall though, I high recommend this office!"
