"I’ve been seeing Dr. Beckham for a couple of years now and I will never go anywhere else again. She is by far the most conscientious, reassuring, gentle, and thorough doctor I have ever had. As a trans person it’s hard to find competent care for reproductive health, but she sure fits the bill. She’s always explained things clearly and without condescension, including my recent hysterectomy. She clearly cares about her patients and making sure they’re giving informed consent free of coercion, which with my background of medical trauma I could not appreciate more. I have noticed several times her correcting other staff on my pronouns even when she thinks I’m not listening, which was when I knew I am truly in safe hands with her. I love how well she strikes the balance of “I’m the expert in gynecology, but you are the expert on your own lived experiences.” I had to make some tough decisions about priorities with the type of surgery I would be having, and I really felt like she would respect what I decided, trusting me to land on what was best for my own needs. Due to some complex overlapping health issues, I did once decide to go against her medical advice, and felt safe enough to tell her I was doing so and keep her abreast of the situation, which I have never been able to do with another doctor before. She was ultimately really understanding of my decision even if it wasn’t what she would have personally recommended I do. That kind of mutual trust is invaluable to me. I cannot recommend her highly enough."

"Absolutely the best experience I’ve had with any doctor visit. I like WakeMed all around, but Dr. Armstrong really takes the cake as the kindest, most attentive, and observant MD I’ve ever met. He also has an amazing memory. The woman who did my prelim, Monica, was very personable and lovely. Even the front desk, Amanda, was so sweet and really took her time with me to schedule everything correctly, and was patient enough to answer all my questions without irritation. Really outstanding service here, so much so that it was necessary to leave a review."
