"Lovely campground. Loop 5 was a great place for tent campers. It's fully tree-covered, closed canopy on loop 5. If it rains, stuff will not dry out quickly. Bathrooms were clean. Be prepared if you need to drive to the bathroom, there's no parking. From the back of the loop it's a bit of a haul and a hill if you're wanting to shower and not get sweaty going back to the camp site. Great walking distance to the rivers for walking in the river or letting the kids play."
"Lovin this place, the rangers are so nice, the bathrooms are clean and they are very nice to the trail ppl, we only come over every few days, everyone is very friendly, we talk about what's up in the woods, it's great ❤️"
"We love this somewhat remote campground - 3500’ elevation means it’s generally 10-20 degrees cooler than non-mountain places anywhere. The Nantahala river, only 20-30’ wide here, is cold, clear and FUN! The times I’ve come for first come first served sites there have always been some good choices."
"A national park, so not as great as a State park but it was a beautiful area. Bathrooms could be improved but they did the job. Was there in October and the bathrooms were freezing cold, no where to sit your stuff, I brought my camp chair with me so I could sit down to get dressed. The showers had plenty of hot water but you had to keep pushing the knob to keep the water on."
