"My wife and I are visiting NYC from Minnesota. Arturo's came recommended so we gave it a try. We love pizza. We ordered calamari and it was excellent. We got a pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza. The crust was superb. It had a crunch but was also chewy. I personally like a sweeter sauce but my wife loved it. All in all, it was worth the train ride down from Times Square. We'd come back."
"They are always popular and you might need to wait. We left our name and were advised to be available in 20-30 mins. Their iconic menu is pizza however i love their pasta too! We ordered garlic clam, tomato spaghetti, carbonara, and broccoli/meat short pasta(forgot name). Their dessert is also amazing. We had Cannoli and Chocolate mousse which are fantastic. One thing, there is only one restroom!"
"Walking around Manhattan and stumbled across Arturo's at 9:45 on a Thursday night. Walked in and figured there wasn't going to be any room but I was pleasantly surprised that a booth was open. Sam our server was a ball of positivity!! I asked her what her go to was and ordered it up. Pepperoni pizza, and penne with vodka sauce. We had the booth that was closest to the band, and the kitchen where I could watch my pizza being tossed into one of the remaining coal fired ovens in NYC!!! Read that again One of the LAST coal fired pizza ovens!!! This right here made my heart flutter, I shed a tiny tear in awe of this oven. I knew this flavor was going to be unlike any other I have ever had in the city. I got my pasta first. This enormous bowl of carb happiness was just the tip of the iceberg. After the first bite I immediately tried to figure out how I could funnel this entire bowl into my face hole. Yes it was that delicious!! About 5 minutes had passed of me shoveling this delicious bowl of carbohydrates and delicious vodka sauce when my pepperoni pizza came out of the coal-fired oven. This pizza was a thing of beauty. If Mona Lisa had a paint brush, she would paint this pizza and hang it on her wall. When Sam came back over to the table and asked if I liked everything I couldn't even speak. I just looked up at her with my tiny tear on my cheek and she knew. Oh yeah she knew. Thank you to everyone at Arturo's you are a staple. You are a landmark. You are the pinnacle of Mount Pizza with that coal-fired oven and that deliciousness. And thank you very much for your hospitality."
"Cozy location and great vibes. We sat down and about 15 later a piano player arrived to give live music! The service was great as well and we got 2 pizza's with both being wonderful. Fun part was the restroom which this place must have been a residence at some point as there was a full bathtub/showed in the restroom. hahahahaha gave us a chuckle. Loved the chalk board to leave messages."
"This place is like a time warp to the 70's. Definitely old school, but that's part of its charm. I think this may be the best coal fired pizza in the city, hands down. Great staff and the food is fantastic. I often have their regular large pie or the margarita pie, they are both great! They also have great Italian food . Take the 6 train to Blecker, walk a couple of blocks and mangiare!!"
