Reviews of Spiced NYC
"Went there the other night for our anniversary, food was decent, we ordered the appetizer platter which was supposed to have some off all the appetizers, there were no onions rings, so I asked the waiter and he admitted they didn't have onion rings but they gave me one extra empanada and one extra beef cigar instead. For that price I expected the waiter to be upfront with me while ordering, instead of hoping I didn't notice. So when I expressed my dissatisfaction the waiter said "what do you want me to do about it" pretty aggressively, and walked off. We also ordered the wake me up burger with no tomatoes and no sunny side up egg which was not great, and extremely expensive. The server brought the burger with tomatoes, and the egg and missing the spicy mayo that said on the menu. I mentioned that to our server and he passive aggressively said he'll fix it, I also asked him to cut it in half before he brings it back out. He brought it back out drowning in spicy mayo, and cut in half with the egg still on and running down the whole burger. Additionally I ordered the actual burger medium and it came medium well. The appetizer platter was $129 The wake me up burger was $42 For those two items plus 1 diet coke the bill was $225 including the 20% mandatory service fee The service was terrible, the prices were higher than most high end nyc restaurants. The atmosphere was very underwhelming, And the food was mediocre. Whoever is running this restaurant needs to shape things up. For the prices on your menu, the service should be top tier, and the food should be perfected. Additionally, great service is more important than great food, and unfortunately this restaurant is lacking in both."
"I loved everything about this place. The ambiance is beautiful! The food is simple, fresh and really delicious. The plates came out pretty quickly. The staff was friendly and patient. And the desserts were delicious too."
"Food was good. We shared the oyster steak and an appetizer. Appetizer was fairly big which was nice. The steak was pretty good. Wouldn't call it amazing but we enjoyed. Also 20% gets added to the bill automatically. Even if it's just 2 ppl. So take that into consideration before going. Service was good. Our waiter was polite and professional."
"Went there last night for a date night and had an incredible time! Ambiance was 5 stars, food was great, service was pleasant and the staff seemed to truly care about every detail from presentation to speed. Prices are reasonable and what you should expect from a waited kosher restaurant in the city. Only thing that I would say to improve for next time is the honey mustard chicken poppers, the poppers were fried to long and were super hard and dry, there also was not enough Honey Mustard on the plate, other then that all the food was fantastic! Will definitely come again."
"We’ve been looking for a new great (kosher) restaurant near Broadway when we go to shows and Spiced is it! Fabulous vibe- quiet, cool lighting, comfortable seating (would be great date place.) Food was both reasonable for a NYC nicer restaurant and amazing. Service was helpful, quick and attentive. Food I’ll definitely order again (and again)- the Chicken Facon Ranch Flatbread. I had the burger Wellington (novel idea but I personally won’t order again.) The pastrami burger was a big hit. The cocktails are yum and strong (had the coconut mojito). So happy to have found this place."
