"The service needs work. The guys behind the counter will let you stand there for a while before asking you what you would like. When they're really busy, they don't acknowledge you for a long time and when they finally do, it's like a rush because they want to take care of the big money orders. Years ago, it was a more personal experience. Now, they just care about $$$. Pizza was not up to my standards. The zeppoles were hard as rocks. What a let down."
"Yum! I’ve never had Sicilian pizza before. This was amazing! Soft and crunchy crust. Saucy! It’s just damn good!"
"Est. 1952 Layout/atmosphere *Small counter area in front with TV near display case/oven; tables in back; backyard area with tables; covered outdoor dining structure in street Food/Drink *Grandma Pizza - really good; thin; crispy crust; cheesy; fresh tomatoes in the sauce; little oily though *Deep Fried Calzone (ricotta, mozzarella & ham) - Good; creamy; nice crunch; also little oily/greasy [ham is excluded from calzones on Fridays]"
"Hi, as a long time customer I would expect better service from a local pizzeria. First my order was 20+ minutes late, second it was burnt… not a little, but as you can see black. When I called to ask for a credit, not a refund or a new pizza… I was laughed and the the individual argued me ( I believe it was the owner), he said, “he saw the pictures and would respond tomorrow”. I will never order from them again and want others to be aware of what we had to deal with this evening. Best of luck and we do not recommend ordering from this establishment. FYI my kids do not like dry, burnt pizza."
"Best Pizza and Fried Calzone EVER! I’ve been eating here since the mid ‘60’s, as a 5 year old little boy. A traditional spot for Good Friday meals. Since moving to Florida a few years ago I make it a point to stop by here whenever in NY. Paulie is only the second owner since John and Onofrio owned it, and aside from fixing up and expanding the dining area (added backyard seating as well), nothing has changed. Quality of food is just as good as it’s always been. I was able to get my Florida pizza guy to makes these as well! I’ll be coming in this week for Mothers Day, so Paulie, get ready to throw a Calzone in the (oil) pool for me!"
