Lantern Sushi

"Coming from Chicago, let me be frank... I am particular about sushi... My husband and I arrived before the dinner rush by design, and we both were delighted with the extensive menu. We opted for garlic butter edamame to start, spicy tuna roll/mango roll/rock and roll roll for entree. Perfect for two! This was by far the best sushi experience we have had in the 5 years we have lived in Wadesboro. Attentive service, quality ingredients, skillful execution. And affordable. We are already making plans to come back! "

"It was a total coincidence I visited here. The place I was going to was closed because of a holiday so I thought I would try The Lantern. It has a nice architectural presence and as i was going in Boston's More Than a Feeling was playing. In fact the atmosphere including the music was the best. I had the chicken hibachi (that is included in my photos). I really like this place and I authentically think it is a 5 star spot. The waitress told me they have been here a year (it's 2023). And I hope they are successful. Check this place out."

"This is a really cool place and likely the best sushi in the county. Their rice is perfectly cooked and the flavors are spot on. I started with the salad with ginger dressing. The bowl is the ultimate bowl for a salad, but the star was the food. The lettuce and veggies were super cold and crisp. The ginger dressing was really good, probably the best I've had. I also got the fried calamari which was cooked perfectly, not rubbery at all. It had a lovely batter with a great seasoning. I couldn't stop eating it. I got the lunch special which came with two sushi rolls. I got the salmon jalapeno and the spicy crunchy tuna. The spicy crunchy tuna was my favorite for taste. It had the perfect amount of heat. The salmon jalapeno was my favorite for texture. I also got to try my friend's Philadelphia roll which won over all three of them. The taste and texture was top notch. I also tried a taste of my friends hibachi chicken. The rice in that dish is so good. It's sticky and seasoned wonderfully. The sauce with the chicken was very delicious as well and thick so it stuck perfectly to the chicken. The atmosphere was great. Very clean. Super cool bathrooms. And the service was spot on. She always made sure we were full of tea and had what we needed. I'll definitely be back. Next time, the firecracker roll is on my list."

"Not going to lie, I was a little skeptical to hear about sushi coming to this small town--immediately, mind goes to spicy mayo, eel sauce and cream cheese covered everything but nope! Every thing is super fresh and the fish is able to shine. So happy to have this little gem closer to home. Thank you for providing us with great service and meals every time and looking forward to many more."
