"Absolutely disgusted with @YMCA Northwest Cary manager Brett's behavior today! Refused to let our local elementary school kids use the facility for just 30 mins (4 families out of which 3 were members) to test small foam planes and make last minute adjustments for NC Science olympiad happening next day .Also forced us out of the church next door as apparently it was YMCA owned space too, and not just that, threatened the kids n parents to call cops. Is this how YMCA supports the community? Shameful and makes me question if there was a racial bias involved as we were all Asians kids and parents. #Disappointed #YMCAFail""
"Overall, the facilities are good, well-maintained, and clean. Staff are neutral, if not friendly, and generally respond appropriately to questions or information about equipment failure, etc. The one exception that stands out is the toxic smell/fumes in the Y since they refinished the gym floors. I had my first asthma attack when I worked out there, so be careful if you or your children have any breathing sensitivity! Maybe go to a different Y as the smell remains more than a month later. Most front desk people acknowledge it, but one woman tried to pretend it wasn't there."
"Pros: This place has a lot of equipment, very spacious. Sauna rooms etc the $55 per month is fully justified Cons: There is a whopping $100 sign up fee. I had to cancel my registration before and now I was looking to come back and my wife was interested too. Well, guess what its $200 registration fee for two people. The only optimal plan for me was the 1 adult and dependents but that was also out of the window with the $140 joining fee. My question to YMCA, what the heck is this joining fee for and why is it so high?"
"Pros - fairly nice facility, front desk has been friendly Cons - overrun with kids, and the guy in charge of adult pick up basketball is a bum. Constantly mismanages the group and last week he openly mocked me for getting pissed and leaving rather than fight with him about it."
"Great clean opened facilities with ample amount of space in-between workout equipment. Sauna, steam rooms, lockers, showers and two pools in the back including outdoor soccer field and two full size basket courts with multiple studios. Extremely friendly staff as well."
