Two Old Birds

"I have been purchasing Annie Sloan paint from TOB for 4 years now, and haven't had a bad experience, but this is note worthy for anyone attempting to use the Annie Sloan lacquer. To say i am VERY disappointed at the outcome of our painted cabinets is putting it mildly. We were told that the Annie Sloan, Clear matte Chalk paint lacquer would NOT yellow, in fact she said it was guaranteed not to yellow and we were strongly encouraged to not use water based poly. BIG mistake. Our beautiful newly painted white cabinets are indeed turning yellow. But as is their policy we can't return the extra can because it is a "no returns policy" even if the product was not used. I am not sure if the young lady didn't know her products or if Annie Sloan Clear Matte Lacquer should not be used over the annie sloan white, but either way, we were directed to purchase a product that in the end caused much angst and disappointment. Do your own research and don't be dissuaded, Buyer beware! Picture is of the yellowing of the lacquer and one of the cabinets that we repainted. (We have lots of repainting to do)."

"I'm so glad to have found this place - entirely by accident! I needed to purchase some Annie Sloan chalk paint, and my usual place was closed Mondays, and this popped up on my search. It's very rustic and antiquey on the outside, but so charming and clean inside. Beautiful little booths filled with a variety of things, from textiles to art, children's games to furniture, soaps to primitive household decor, and more. But there's still more! In another building there's a second group of vendors, all with clean, uncluttered, interesting items to browse. I'll be back, for sure!"

"Cluttered, old buildings which are difficult to navigate and multiple trip hazards. The staff was very helpful when we went the first time and purchased chalk paint, but not very helpful when we went to purchase wax the second visit. We went there to purchase Annie Sloan chalk paint, since stores selling are limited. We will try online purchasing in the future."
