"Yeah don’t bother with this Plato’s closet in Brier Creek. I’ve tried 3x to donate or sell(?) my clothes here and 3x I’ve been misinformed by multiple staff members about how to donate and when to donate. The third time (I was hopeful!), after already going back and forth from this location x2, I was once again, given the incorrect information and instructions. I still have my basket of clothes and I’m giving up"
"honestly don’t waste your time selling to them. it’s a scam. i brought in a bag full of free people denim for them only to buy the three pairs that had tags on them for $25 total (roughly $7 each pair). those were $70 each when i bought them. i understand they’re a business that needs to make money but don’t rip me off."
"Complete waste of my time. I brought in a huge bag of clothing- was told to wait a few hours (which is A LONG TIME)- few hours go by just to be told they won’t be buying anything. Gave a reason why BUT they said they same thing to the few people in front of me as well. Took the SAME BAG over to Uptown Cheapskate and they bought multiple items and I only waited 15 minutes! Don’t waste your time at Plato’s!!! Edit: I also took the SAME bag to Clothing Mentor with what was remaining from Uptown and they bought even more with a wait time of 20 minutes. Plato’s passed up on Calvin Klein, Uniqlo and other brands that the other stores bought from me."
"I drive an hour to go here, and had to wait almost three hours for them to go through my clothes!! I brought in a box and 2 Victoria secret bags full of clothes, and they only took 1 pair of under armor shorts, 1 pair of Nike shorts and a Nike jacket, I only got $9 and some change for them, and I’d say those shorts and jacket were pretty worn in too. I had a brand new Columbia zip up jacket that had been only worn once and they didn’t take that, also noticed when I got home my white Nike jacket and white vans long sleeve had multiple orange stains which were not there before they had them. I am very disappointed in Plato’s closet and was expecting more than what I got so don’t waste your time selling to them, this store is going to go downhill and fast if they keep being stingy with what they buy off of us, and treating customers how I was treated!!"
"I got tired of looking at all the piles of old clothing in my bedroom and car trunk and finally decided to launder them and bring them in to sell today. I had gently used footwear and jeans that my daughter and I could no longer make use of. Recycling clothing that you can receive cash money for is the best thing you can do for the environment. I have a growing preteen and footwear is expensive. Trends come and go for me as an adult. I was able to sell items that were in pristine condition that I had not worn in years. Hailey was so kind and professional. She walked me through the entire process for the buy. They use a helpful website that checks you in and alerts you of when your quote for their buy is ready, you receive a text message. We browsed the store for about 20 minutes and the quote was ready. My daughter found some adorable stickers for her laptop for 25 cent. Plato's carries many famous brands like Zara, Nike and Abercrombie. Very trendy clothing and footwear. The prices are reasonable for some items. A friend of mine is a regular here where he loves the men's selection. Recycle your clothing and get cash ! It's convenient and easy here. They were even able to refer me to another local thrift store for the items that they did not purchase."
