"Dropped one of my dogs off around 830 for a simple re-examination, kept calling throughout the day for updates and it wasn’t until 4 he was ready for pickup. Minimal interaction with the vet in their lobby when he was finally ready. Brought the dog home and he spent a minute drinking water as if he didn’t have any throughout his stay. Will go elsewhere for future vet needs."
"Good care, HOWEVER... I brought my kittens in for their vaccines and a wellness check after they had been rescued the night before. The kittens were quite young, I didn't know where they came from, and I suspected they had fleas. I brought them in because I knew they were too young for normal flea removal sprays/ointments, and I asked them for help. They basically said there was nothing they could do, and offered ZERO advice after I explicitly asked them for it. I tried all the home remedies I found on the internet until they were a bit older. A couple of weeks later, I brought them back for their first vaccines, and told them they had fleas, and if it was possible to give them some medication now that they were older. They were both given medication. A WEEK later, I came back and asked for them to get a dip and more medication because the fleas were still a problem (bear in mind I was cleaning/spraying/fogging my apartment like crazy). While they were getting their dip, I fogged my apartment and spent 3 hours vacuuming afterwards like a madman. When I came to pick them up from their dip/medication, I returned home and let my cats out of their carrier. As I was letting them out, something told me to pass the flea comb through them and I found SEVERAL LIVE FLEAS STILL ON THEM. When I called them, justifiably upset because I had now spent upwards of $400 (not including all the over the counter things I bought to clean my apt), they, in no uncertain terms, let me know it was MY FAULT for "not cleaning my house and having an infestation." I brought my kittens in because I, as a civilian, didn't know what to do with the problem, and came to "professionals" to ask them for help; all I got was rude and holier-than-thou attitudes, and made to feel guilty for something that I had been attacking from all fronts like a maniac, and THEY NEVER EVEN ASKED ME ABOUT. Furthermore, I liked the whole "drop off" situation, HOWEVER.. be prepared to have questions for them, because they literally will give you NO debrief, won't even tell you what the pet weighed. They just look at you and say "the total is (insert exorbitant amount here), do you wanna pay in cash or card?" LASTLY, in my last appointment, I brought my cats to get their last few boosters and rabies shots before I moved. I also asked for their vaccine record to take with me for the trip. I brought them in at 10AM, and at 4PM (mind you, they close at 1pm on Sat.) I had still not been called to pick my kittens up. When I literally drove up to their door, after calling 4-5 times with no response (weird since they do boarding, so someone must've been there), I was called by the nurse to confirm if I wanted the younger kitten to get the rabies shot because she was smaller. This leads me to believe they were JUST doing my kittens' vaccines. From the state of the nurse, as well as my paperwork not being completed, and the way the vet rushed past us and left without even saying hello, I'm 95% sure they forgot about my kittens. Furthermore, the vaccination report they gave me was wrong, and the nurse's "solution" was the take a sharpie and cross out what was wrong.... I had to call that Monday to request the reports to be sent to me by email. Honestly, I had heard great things about this place, and tried to give it MULTIPLE shots, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I know with pets..."
"My partner and I adore this vet!! They took our sick kitten in when no other vet in Durham would, they are so kind, and they always remember you and your pets. I have nothing but great things to say about them, and I recommend them to everyone I know! Reasonable prices, as well!"
"Took both of my furry friends today! One of my dogs had never been to the vet before, and I was worried about how both of them would react. The staff washed all my worries away and helped make me and my dogs feel as welcome and comfortable possible. Very nice staff and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!! :)"
"We cannot even begin to come up with words to exemplify what a wonderful group of kind, caring, personable, and professional people are at St. Frances. This team has a real love for animals and their people parents. I can’t stress enough that you are NOT just a number here. Dr. Banes is a true visionary in her field and has never stopped looking for answers with our pup that would make a great case study for any veterinary expert. The staff is so kind and welcoming which seems to help my girl not be so scared walking through the door. I think that is all in part to the staff and the atmosphere. I wish I had words that could really do them justice."
