"How does a literacy model school not teach PHONICS? PHONICS is the basis of learning words. My little sister is an 8 y/o in 3rd grade and she came to me asking how to spell "of" A TWO-LETTER WORD. They don't teach number placement either. She thinks 6 digits means 600. They don't teach correctly. They tell her to "look at that word and know that word is what it is" instead of "hear is why this word is pronounced like this, this is how you sound it out.""
