"My daughter is 4 and developed a fear of doing the flip over the bar. The teacher/owner tried to get her to put her hands on the bar, do a half flip, etc, but my daughter simply had a fear. She would complete every other move in the 45 minute class, but she would not do the flip. And I knew she’d get over her fear in time, she was just stuck for a bit. The teacher began by not giving my daughter the hand stamp reward at the end of class because of her “defiance.” Then she would wait many minutes at the bar when it was my daughter’s turn telling her in a stern voice to try it. Then it escalated to the teacher sending my daughter to sit with the parents out in the audience if she was not going to try to flip. When I questioned her about this, she said that that is what she does. She said, “not only is she not trying, it's very disruptive to the rest of the group when (my daughter) starts pitching a fit.” I have videos of this, and my daughter never “pitched a fit.” She simply stands there, terrified almost crying saying, “ I can’t do it” until finally the teacher releases her to continue doing the rest of the circuit. My point is this: the teacher saw my daughters fear as defiance, and she treated it as such. And when I quit on January 23 over this style that I consider unhelpful, she used the agreement loophole to attempt to charge me for February because you “must give a 30 day written notice.” Of course, she offered other classes, but we did not want to stay at a gym that uses bullying and punishment techniques to help a child conquer their fears."
"Zero Stars! Stay Away!!! Owner's are very rude to the parents and kids they are paid to serve. They use shame and humiliation tactics rather than developing plans to help children overcome fears. Your reply to the above is an interesting spin on what actually happened (video proof). A four year old expressing fear is not defiance or disruptive. Rather than speaking with her parents first to develop a plan to help her overcome her fears, you chose humiliation. Other parents expressed their feelings to us about the mistreatment. Perhaps we would have chosen a different class had you come to us first and exercised some decorum and professionalism. Anyway… happy to be gone."
"Very rude and very greedy. Been going for years been on time for every payment. We missed one payment I called to correct the missed payment and was told a charge of 95$ would be made no mention of late fees . They charged 95$ Then immediately refunded it and charged 130 instead when my wife called to clarify we were greeted by a incredibly rude condescending woman who advised it was for “late fees” Which would be fine had she been upfront about it and advised of the fees instead of being sneaky When asked to speak to the owner she just hung up on me. They need to find a new secretary one who is capable of professionalism Greedy greedy nasty and hugely unprofessional Do yourself a favor and take your kids to a professional establishment"
"Clemmons gymnastics is the best. Our daughter has been going there since she was 4. They have helped her build confidence in herself and her skills are constantly improving."
