"To start, I applied for pre k in the summer, my daughter didn’t get enrolled until October. After countless calls and emails, they drug their feet. Now that I’m moving, I need to transfer my daughter to another school. The school can’t do it, I have to go through smart start again. Sent 3 emails and 5 voice messages, no one! I even went to the office, it looks abandoned. Nothing there but the same pamphlets and phone numbers. Forsyth County needs to do better!"
"I filled out a preschool application in the summer & nobody ever followed up with me. Then when I called nobody answered so I sent an email. They told me they couldn’t process my application because I was missing a form. I filled out the missing form & never heard back again. When I call nobody answers & now it’s the middle of the school year & they’re barely trying to reach out saying all the schools I’ve put into my application are full."
"This place has definitely went downhill from when I first applied for my now 7 year old. No one likes to really answer the phone. I called to check the status of my twins pre-K application and was told everything has been processed just waiting on the school of where they’re going for pre-K. Called the school to see what else I need to do and was told I would need to contact smart start. Called smart start back and of course no answer. So I drove to the location, go to the office, ring the intercom thing at least 3 times of being there for about 10 minutes. So left a note for someone to contact me and still no response."
"Completely disappointed. I decided to take a Pre-k application by person instead of sending it by mail. The first time I went there. There was a sign at the entrance door that said they weren’t accepting PreK applications until Feb 17. That was a wait of time. I came in today Feb 17, and there was another sign saying they weren’t accepting applications after 4:45. Which is understandable, but not of this was on the application website. People have jobs, and is hard to make trips like this. Am trying a different location instead. I always pick a place by their reviews and I honestly don’t know how they have 5 star reviews. Great lack of communication."
"Smart Start has been such a tremendous help with finding care for my three children while I attended school and worked full time. Everyone is always so friendly, very helpful, and professional! Thank you so much for everything! Without your help, I wouldn't have been able to go to school or work to provide for my family. I will be graduating with my Bachelor's in Business Administration and Finance in Dec. 2017 and plan to attend dental school to become a dentist. Although a long road, this dream was made possible through this program and the support from the community. I will pay it forward! ---THANK YOU SO MUCH!!"
