"A beautifully kept up, clean, and interesting piece of history. Very amazing to walk through knowkng how old it is. It's a great feeling to be walking through a hojse that was built from this mans own hands. Very humbling and a beautiful land. The Ranger had so much information as well It was beautiful."
"Nice little hike to this beautiful cabin. If you’re doing the Cade Cove loop this is a def stop and one of my favorite stops along the way. Highly recommend going !!"
"Beautiful place!!! Extremely peaceful. If you've ever wondered what the original settlers homes looked like, this is an amazing place to experience history. You are transported back in time as you become one with nature. Deer and wild turkeys are visible all along the trail. Picture a safari with people pulling over to take pictures. You can go into the old Appalachian homes and see close up, the craftsmanship of each building. Happy Trails!"
"Mmm...well it was just a cool little cabin with plenty of flowers and critters around it. I went on a nice rainy day so it wouldn't be too crowded and I got some really good pictures. It's worth checking out for sure and if you're a local you already know it's worth checking out several times a year because a each time is a different experience. Hitting up cades cove is always a good way to spend a day."
"First stop on the cades cove scenic loop.... Beautiful house and property!! Parents, daughters, infants slept on first floor and the sons slept in the loft. The stairs to the loft are accessible so you can see upstairs. The guide book ($1 at the information station at the beginning) explains how the log homes were built and with mud mortar in between the logs. Get the guide book, the info is great! We were there on a Sunday and only saw half the loop. Traffic was heavy on the one way loop. Take lots of water and use the restroom before you start, as there is only a restroom at building 11, the historic mill."
