Reviews of Cades Cove Historical Grist Mill
"Add this gem to the list of amazing sites in Cade's Cove. IG @Rileyv.photography"
"Cades Cove Historical Grist Mill is located near the Cades Cove Visitor Center. One of the largest landowners at Cades Cove, John Cable built this water-powered mill in the early 1870s. A canal was built to direct the water over the mill wheel. The mill waterwheel is still working. It has been preserved nicely and well maintained. It becomes busy as day goes by. Ample parking is available. It is undoubtedly the highlight of the area."
"Beautiful historic water mill. The other buildings in the village are nice but the mill is definitely the highlight. Our son loved that you could see it working (The volunteer inside provided really interesting information as he was grinding corn) It was busy but we visited other buildings nearby and came back shortly after to get in."
"Beautiful drive!!!See old historical churches and the mill at the end.But on Wednesdays this is only open to hikers and bike riders"
"Beautiful stop with a river, old buildings, and a mill off of a scenic creek. We also saw a bear nearby. Bring lunch if going during a busy time because the gift shop only has limited snack selections. Cades coves is at about the half-way point, but we didn't arrive there until after noon with all the traffic on the loop."
