Reviews
"Cades Cove has some of the best views of the Smokies! We saw countless deer and turkeys, and a few hawks and cranes as well. Plenty of stops along the way to walk trails or look at historical buildings. Would definitely recommend going early in the day to beat the crowd. It was about an hour drive from our Gatlinburg cabin but so worth it!"
"Beautiful scenery! We didn’t see but one deer on the entire loop. This was a few days after Christmas so not sure if bears are hibernating. It can be a really slow drive because people keep stopping. It was packed driving the loop and we were at a crawl pace for the majority of the ride."
"This is an 11-mile-long one-way loop that goes through a section of the great smoky mountains having a high population of bears, deer, turkeys, etc. If you're lucky, you might even spot some on the drive. The loop also goes through several scenic locations with stunning views of the mountains, especially at dusk. It's a must visit if you're on a trip to the smoky mountains."
"Very peaceful and scenic drive! Stop at visitor center and buy a ‘tour’ book with all the info - it’s super interesting and only cost $1.75. Make time to stop and check out the stops along the way - I wished we had time to make the hike at Abrams Falls Trail. It is 5 miles there and back."
"Cades Cove is one of my most favorite places to visit. It is beautiful, peaceful, and you can feel the past in the air. I love going through the old buildings and seeing how our ancestors lived, visiting the churches and walking the trails. The wildlife is always interesting as well. Our last trip we saw five bears and several wild turkeys. I can’t wait to go back."
