Reviews
"Didn’t know this park existed, and it's so close to our place. Went there in mid-November before sunset, and it was wonderful! The pastel sky, leaves changing colors in the background like a wonderland, even a little deer came out. There are nice trails for a walk. Highly recommended!"
"Nice place to hike, with a small museum and visitor's center. Fairly private, at least the day we visited, as we hardly saw anyone. It was also remarkably quiet, which is rare for the Triangle area. Highly recommended!"
"Came here for a little field trip for work. We were welcomed by a friendly staff member who enlightened us about the history of the pea prairie. It was something I knew nothing about, and after our very in depth talk it made me a want to create my own at home. On top of that they take in injured Eastern box turtles and help rehabilitate them. It’s a great place for all to visit and embrace, and I hope it gets all the funding and care it deserves. With all the rapid development in the area, places like this are few and far between and need to be protected."
"Beautiful, quiet trail. Will go again. Went during the week and only saw a couple of people total. But also saw a couple of deer! Walked along the water. Trails were well marked. Easy trail walk"
"Hiked the full circle part the hidden rocks, there pond, through the field, and through the woods. The beauty of this park is it's variety. Trail changes elevation frequently but not severely. The only hazard is the tunneling bees and those are clearly marked."
