Reviews
"It's a small park but very peaceful in the city. There's a few benches that you can sit at and enjoy the sound of the creek. So peaceful."
"Cute little stretch of the ellerbe Creek but there really isn't a hiking area. The 17 acre Nature preserve is much better and only a few minutes away by car"
"It's nice to have this little spot to explore near our neighborhood, but it is quite short. There's a few trail sections with broken glass and brick ... so careful if you bring your dog! I do like that it's a little hidden away spot with creek access, but nothing very exciting about it."
"Sweet little area for my kids to play in tje creek and run around. The geology is so cool too! I wish I could.find out what caused the start-burst fracture we saw!"
"This place is tiny and frankly it's a bit oddly located to easily visit. While the hiking is minimal (very minimal), if you're interested in Ellerbee Creek, geology, pocket preserves, or you're just wanting a quick hideaway, then it's a kinda cool little spot. If you happen to be biking on the Stadium Dr Greenway it's worth a quick visit. If you live or work nearby and want a place to bring a lunch or meditate by a babbling steam for a few minutes, it's worth a quick visit. This preserve is owned and managed by Ellerbee Creek Watershed Association (ECWA) and they are doing an amazing job of helping protect Ellerbee Creek, as well as help the greater Durham community gain a better understanding and interest in our local waterways."
