Clarion Hotel Airport & Conference Center 212 West Woodlawn Road, Charlotte, NC 28217

"Our flight from Charlotte was canceled. We were given a choice of 3 hotels. We chose Clarion because it USUALLY is a nice place. When arriving, pulling up we could tell this was not a nice place. Taxi let us out and we were stuck. Even the lobby was dirty and smelled. Going up to the room we wear met by several young men that had urinated in the elevator. Actually stepped inside elevator before we realized what the ‘wet’ was. The rooms were dirty, lightbulbs out. Carpet was sticky. One member of our group would not even lay on bed. Sit at desk to sleep. We have made the airline aware , but the public needs to be included. The hotel needs condemned. Disgusting!!"

"First room I got had a very bad mold smell. Was pretty bad. I went and got my fan and turned on the ac, which they had off. When you turn off acs because it's not occupied it becomes a bacteria playground. After 2 hours of lying in the bed, I started to feel dizzy, faint and nauseous. The front desk staff was helpful so I gave service more stars. But if you walk in these rooms with a strong odor and ac is off, get out."

"It’s a rough hotel in a rough area. Fortunately the staff are great and super friendly. But I had to change rooms because my first one smelled of smoke. The second room smelled much better but still had a odd smell. Overall the hotel needs to be overhauled and have a deep clean. The desk chair in my room was falling apart, the room door would not close all the way and latch by itself; it needed to be pushed or pulled shut, the alarm clock was from the mid 2000’s and couldn’t keep time or be adjusted, bathroom light switch only sometimes worked and I had to leave the light on all night. There was hair in the tub and on the bathroom floor. There is no provided breakfast. You can go to the hotel restaurant and get an overpriced breakfast but I’d recommend going to the nearby McDonald’s instead. My car’s dashcam caught 2 people pulling the doorhandles of my car and others nearby. You’ll also find many homeless and ladies on the corner at night. Staff commented “yeah that’s normal, it’s a bad area.” TLDR: Overpriced, in a rough area, needs updating."

"Came here because La Quinta was nasty filthy. This hotel is average. Compared to the roach motel, at least I could sleep without fear of roaches. The carpet in the room had a weird dirt film and it smelled like mold in the room. Reminded me of a red roof or knights inn. Bathroom was tiny. Not bad for a one night stay. But wouldn't push it longer. Too far out from the actual town, but if getting a flight it would be recommended."

"Let me just say, the staff at this hotel has been incredible. They have been very helpful and friendly and I always enjoy their service when I stay at this hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but they could use some updating. Other than slightly dated amenities, I would say this is a great place to stay on a budget as it is certainly going to outperform a motel or anything like that."
